Story
Meet Nala! Breed: mastiff/lab mix. Age: est 2.5 years, est birthdate 1/22/2021 Weight: approx 65ish lbs. Training: leash, crate and housetrained. She also knows sit and down and eager to learn more. She is very food motivated which is a plus! Good with other dogs/cats? Yes to dogs, but no cats. Good with adults/kids? Nala is very loyal but it's takes her a little bit to warm up to you. She prefers women but will accept a man. It takes her a bit to warm up to strangers. She is fostered with kids and does great. Personality: shy/reserved in New situations, warms up to be friendly & playful. She loves to play with other dogs. She seems to like to play in water. Reason for rescue: Nala came in as a pup with siblings. She has been adopted and returned twice. First time- she chewed up things when left unattended. Second time - owner was unable to provide time and care she needed. Nala is looking for someone to give her heart to. She is very loyal but it takes her a little time to trust - can you blame her? She prefers women but does fine with her foster dad. She is fearful of most men. She crates easily and walks well on a leash. She does well with the 3 kids in her foster home. She loves to play with her 4-legged foster brother. Nala is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative & current on vaccinations and preventatives. If interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application! Adoption fee: $75October 28, 2024, 10:01 am

Story
*Andy Bernard voice* `BIG TUNA!`I don`t think anyone actually knows my real name, so they just called me Big Tuna. I am around 2 years old. The people here think I am what they call a Mastiff mix. They also comment on my cute little nub tail alot. When I came to the shelter, I had a friend with me; so they said I might do well with other dogs. I would still prefer to meet your dog before I go home just to make sure they like me.

Contact my foster, kiahmae26@gmail.comAdopter needs to have a strong personality to establish boundaries. HousebrokenWorking on his jumping, so at this time would not recommend children under 13. Total love bug. No detection of being dominant currently. Protective of his person. Great with other dogs, small and large. Male and female, intact and tact .Not exposed to cats as of yet due to potential high prey drive. Major quirk is the sound and sight of ball.Aggressively working on: Understanding “leave it” and “lass es”(German)Working on recall/ “here” and “hier”(German)Basic commands both English and German such has “nein”, “gut” “frei” Working disregarding sound and sight of balls. More to come.

This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for information. Contact information is provided in the description below.Penelope is a 5 year old English Mastiff. She is up to date on vaccinations and spayed. She is a gentle dog, but needs to be in a home without young children as she gets nervous with the quick movements. A home with older, calm teenagers would be ideal for her. Penelope has lived with cats and chickens since she was a puppy and does fine with them.Penelope is located in Mooresville NC. Story
We fell in love with Freya at the shelter because of her friendly and goofy personality. We dont know much about her history. She loves cuddles and is a major couch potato, but she is also fairly energetic and loves to run and play. She has some leash reactivity that we have been trying to work through. She tends to try and rush up to meet other dogs, which, given her stature, can be pretty intimidating looking and hard for me to stop. We have invested $5k in her training. While she did amazing with the trainer, it has not translated 100% at home, and I think its because I cannot give her the attention and structure she needs to thrive. My job can sometimes be demanding, and I am about to start traveling more for it. My husband still has another year and a half left on his contract with the Army, and until that is up, we split our time between Spartanburg, SC and Fayetteville, NC. While Freya gets along great with my husbands dog, she does not get along with his roommates dog.
