Story
Enid is about four years old and, without reading ahead, go ahead and guess what specific breeds she is. There are five! Drumroll, please... Enid is bull mastiff, Neapolitan mastiff, German shepherd, cane corso, and labrador retriever! All of those in 70 pounds of cuteness. Enid loves laying in the grass, playing fetch (but not so much bringing the item back to you), chewing on sticks, sleeping on her back, getting belly rubs, riding in cars, and hanging out with her people. She is also a fan of playing in water from the hose or in a kiddie pool. However, don't ask Enid to step outside to potty in the rain unless you're willing to go out with her! She is super smart and already knows sit, shake, down, place, kennel, come, look at me, through the legs, and wait (for food). Squeaky toys will motivate her; toys, not as much. Go figure! Because Enid is such a smarty pants, keeping her mind busy helps to keep her out of mischief. While she can't do crossword puzzles, she is really good at snuffle mats, lick mats, and peanut butter stuffed Kongs! If you're looking for a super snuggly, Velcro pooch, Enid is not that. She's fairly independent but will seek out pets and attention. She also likes to sleep in her human's bed sometimes, if she's not napping in her own dog bed. Do you think Enid might be the peas to your carrots? The jelly to your peanut butter? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info! She's in the KC metro, but transport might be available to the right home.

Story
Meet Archer. He’s a fantastic mastiff around 5 years old and 85lbs. He loves attention and is calm around other dogs and kids. He hasn't been introduced to cats. He knows how to sit and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. Archer's very favorite thing is to get ear scratches from his people! He's such a good boy who needs to find a loving home soon. If you're interested in meeting this boo, call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. Archer is in the Kansas City metro, but transport might be available to the right home!

Story
Bullwinkle is an XL boy with an XL smile! He was found as a stray, so we don`t know his history. He is proof that size does not make a dog braver and bolder. He has been very shy when first meeting new people. He has warmed up with some staff and we know in a patient home he will show you his love and trust. Bullwinkle would likely do best in a calm home without small children who may not understand he needs some space at first. In dog play groups, Bullwinkle has also been unsure of other dogs and will need to meet future fur siblings before going home. He also needs to meet all household members since he needs time to get to know you.Bullwinkle is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to swap a noisy shelter for a happy home!

Story
We`ve all seen the little velvet hippo dogs on social media. With this girl, you get more for your money! Cookie Marie is a big beautiful senior lady who lost her home through no fault of her own. This sweetheart gives the best snuffleupagus kisses to her volunteer friends and would love to share some snuggles with you.In her former home, she was reported to be completely house-trained and she knows several commands. She has also lived with young dogs of varying sizes, cats, and elementary-age children. While at the shelter, she`s been a quiet, shy girl, visiting with other gentle pups in morning playgroups. She would love to meet any potential fur siblings and our shelter staff will help with introductions to ensure that everyone gets along. There are so many advantages to adopting a senior dog. They are generally calm and settled, with that lovely mature energy that we all can appreciate. There is very little more rewarding in life than providing that safe, loving home for a dog who would be most grateful to spend the rest of their life in comfort.Cookie Marie is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.

I got Bailey from my sister, she is 4 years old in March. I’m looking for someone that will love her as much as I do. Bailey likes to go on walks or just be outside. She will be your shadow and follow you were ever you go. She loves being under the blankets. She’s not good with bigger dogs, smaller dogs shes more used to but would probably take time. She will let you know when she has to go potty.

Story
Kobe is an incredible dog. I have owned him since he was 9 weeks old. He's moved across the country with me (3x) on my collegiate athletics journey. He knows tricks like: sit, lay, shake, other paw, kiss, whisper, speak. He even prefers to show these off before he is given the ok to eat his kibble. He is calm and mellow. He loves to cuddle and play with toys. He is protective but not aggressive. He loves walks, car rides, & belly rubs. He deserves the world, and I can no longer give it to him. Kobe is in need of a procedure (per our primary vet). He has struggled with seasonal ear infections his whole life, and now his body has built up a tolerance to any & all medications/antibiotics to fight them off. They recommend he gets a TECA- total ear annual abrasion. I simply cannot afford it, and I don't have the time or money to care for him accurately. This dog is my world. He saved me, he doesn't even know it. This is the hardest thing I've ever done. I need someone to love him.
