Story
Meet Reeses, a charming Mastiff/Husky mix with a heart as big as his personality. His sweet and friendly nature makes him the perfect companion. He's a goofball who loves to play, bringing a sense of joy and laughter to every moment. Despite his playful energy, Reeses also enjoys cuddling up for a relaxing evening. His cuddly nature makes him the perfect companion for those cozy nights in. Reeses is an adult dog, but he still has a youthful spirit, full of enthusiasm and zest for life. His unique blend of playfulness and affection makes him a joy to be around. Reeses would make an excellent addition to any family, bringing his own special blend of love, laughter, and companionship. With his friendly nature and playful energy, Reeses is ready to bring joy and companionship to his forever home. Reeses is a 1 - 2 yr old male Mastiff/Husky mix. He has a high energy level, so he would benefit from an active family with a fenced yard and plenty of space for daily exercise and play. He does moderately pull on a leash, but with basic obedience training, he should be walking like a champ in no time! Reeses is food motivated and knows the command sit. He mixes well with other dogs in a kennel, but is afraid of cats in the shelter environment. Dogs are generally tested with dogs of their own size; and dog meets with the resident dogs are always encouraged. Our cat test should be used as a general-purpose screening only to rule out overt aggression; we always recommend caution when introducing dogs to cats in the home. Recommendation on suitability of placement with children by their ages is based on behavioral observations including energy level and response to body handling. We never recommend leaving young children unsupervised with dogs, and we cannot guarantee the behavior of dogs with children, other pets, or cats. Behavior evaluations should be considered as a snapshot of the behavior of the dog at this point in time; JHS believes all dog families need to be prepared to invest time and energy into training as well as provide common sense management of their new dog. We always encourage family to do some research on the breeds or mixes of breeds prior to adoption as many can have some unique characteristics that may or may not fit into their families. Always remember that the majority of dogs at our shelter have been exposed to or may have kennel cough. Kennel cough is contagious to other dogs, please talk to your vet if you have any questions about kennel cough prior to adoption. Please ask your adoption counselor at time of adoption if you have any unanswered questions regarding illnesses and treatments of the pet that you are adopting.
