Story
He was left behind when his owners moved out. Very affectionate. He looks like a goofy, kind of floppy hound dog as he ambles around. He’s sweet and affectionate. Gets along with most dogs. He’s a little bossy with food especially with a timid dog. Feeding in a crate solves that. Loves his play time in the yard with two stout dogs. Great on a leash. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. Tanner's adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225. If transport is needed, his adoption fee is $525 (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions).Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to Your Browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. Story
Meet Ace...he is a very large Mastiff/Pit mix in need of a new home. He is a well-mannered boy who may be house trained. He is a potty holder. He is very hard to walk on a leash. It takes 2 volunteers to walk him because sometimes he likes to play tug of war. He loves toys and will pull on them to play tug of war as well. He will growl (but it is not in a mean way). He would do best as an only pet with a fence/privacy fence. Ace is a super handsome fella who really needs a shot at a forever home.

Story
Meet Maisy! Maisy is a 5-year-old Mastiff mix with a heart as big as her paws! She came to us as a stray from Sumpter, severely underweight and clearly having been through a lot. But oh, how far she's come! With time, love, and plenty of good meals, Maisy has transformed into a healthy, happy pup who's ready for her forever home. Despite her tough start, Maisy's outlook on life is nothing short of amazing. She's always wiggly with excitement to see people and has never met a stranger-she's as friendly and affectionate as they come. Her favorite things? Stuffy toys (even if they only last a few minutes), snacks (she's very food motivated), and simply hanging out with her humans. Maisy is still learning the ropes of home life, including potty training and basic manners, but her eagerness to please and strong bond with her people make her a great student. She's mellow by nature and prefers relaxed exploration in the yard over high-energy activities. While she hasn't quite figured out how to "play" just yet, we can tell she's curious and interested-and with time, she might just become a pro! She's currently unsure around other dogs but has done fine in calm playgroups, mostly keeping to herself. If you already have a dog at home, we're still happy to consider a meet-and-greet to see how they might get along. As for cats-we're not sure yet. Maisy would do best in a moderately active home, possibly with older kids and maybe a laid-back dog sibling. Most importantly, she needs a patient and loving family who can help her continue her journey from survivor to spoiled companion. If you're looking for a sweet, soulful, easygoing girl to share your heart and home with-Maisy might just be your perfect match. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Maisy, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea & tick prevention. Maisy is currently heartworm positive, and has begun her treatment as of 5/8/25. FMAR covers the full cost of heartworm treatment and works with Home Care Veterinary Services for the treatment. You're still encouraged to apply to adopt Maisy! We'll work closely with you to ensure her treatment continues smoothly and she gets everything she needs to thrive in her new home. Her treatment after adoption would continue through HCVS until successfully completed. Her adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care she has received. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Meet Leo — A Gentle Giant Learning to Trust AgainLeo is a 134-pound Mastiff who came to us as a stray, carrying both his massive size and the weight of a difficult past. It’s clear from his body language and sensitivities that Leo has experienced hardship before finding his way to us, and because of that, he’s still learning that the world—and the people in it—can be kind.Leo has what we lovingly call a few “no-no spots,” areas on his body that have become sensitive over time and are best avoided. Respecting his boundaries is essential, and when that respect is given, Leo responds with quiet trust and deep loyalty. Once you earn his confidence, he is steadfast and devoted—this is a dog who will never turn on someone he trusts.Despite his size and his record-breaking drool (truly impressive), Leo’s nature is gentle and sweet. He’s not looking for chaos or constant activity—he’s looking for safety, consistency, and someone who understands that healing takes time. He would thrive in a calm, adult-only home with an experienced large-breed handler who can read his cues, honor his limits, and continue helping him rediscover joy at his own pace.Leo may not be the right fit for every home—but for the right person, he has the potential to be an incredibly meaningful companion. If you believe in giving dogs the space and patience they deserve, Leo may just be waiting for you.If you would like to meet Leo, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received.**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. Story
🎄🏡 Mitosis Is Hoping for a Home for the Holidays 🏡🎄 While homes are filling with lights, laughter, and family gatherings, Mitosis is still waiting for a place to truly call his own. This 2-year-old, 111 lb Shepherd mix is a big, lovable guy who brings joy wherever he goes. He loves playing fetch, tug-of-war with his canine foster sister (an SMS alum!), and ending the day curled up close to his people for cuddles. Mitosis is smart, knows some basic commands, and enjoys structure. He does great with medium to large dogs, and his foster mom has been working with him around cats — with supervision, he’s doing very well, and we’re cautiously optimistic. Because he’s a big, strong boy, he’s looking for a family with large dog experience who can give him the guidance and activity he thrives on. 🎁 2 years old | 111 lbs 🐶 Dog-friendly (medium/large dogs) 🐾 Doing well with cats under supervision 🎾 Fetch & tug champ 🤗 Big-time cuddler 🩺 Fully vetted 💪 Large dog experience required All Mitosis wants this season is a family of his own. If you have room in your heart — and on your couch — Mitosis would love to be home for the holidays. ❤️🎄 👉 Apply to adopt: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SMS/Dog
