You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet the magnificent Miss Hetti. She is a playful, energy abundant Cane Corso, and likely, boxer mix. She loves tummy rubs, fetch, and Benebone chew toys. Hetti thrives on multiple walks per day however can over heat quickly in higher temps. She is very strong and still learning manners with passing animals so an experienced handler and dog owner is a must. She loves greeting people but due to her size and still puppy behaviors, a house with kids over 12 is preferred. For Hetti to live her best life she should be a solo canine with a large fenced yard and an active owner willing to give her the exercise and attention she needs. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 5, 2025, 6:00 pm

Story
Hey there, Arnold here! If you're searching for a handsome, fun-loving guy who's always up for an adventure, I'm your dog! I'm currently hanging out in my kennel, patiently waiting for the chance to meet you and show you just how great I am. The volunteers here love taking me to events because I'm a rockstar in the car and well-behaved in public. I’m the life of the party during pack walks with my dog friends, and I have a blast at playgroups. But don’t worry, I’m just as excited to play with my humans, too—especially when it comes to tug-of-war! Just a heads-up though... I’ve got some serious tug strength, so you better be ready, because I might just pull you down in the process! I’m looking for an active, fun-loving family who can keep up with my energy. I’m eager to learn, so I’ll need a family that has the time and patience to continue my training and match my enthusiasm. I currently know sit, down, paw, look/focus, stay, and come. I am a total rockstar when it comes to obedience commands and super easy to train with food. While I still need to work on my leash manners, I promise I’ll be an amazing hiking or jogging buddy once I’ve got those down. A fenced-in yard is a must for me to run and play, and I’d be thrilled to have older kids who can appreciate my playful, sometimes clumsy nature. If you’ve got another dog, that could be awesome too! We just need to make sure we’re introduced properly. I’m crate-trained and have been noted to be accident-free in a home setting, so I’ve got the basics covered. I can’t wait to meet you and your family! Don’t miss the chance to bring this handsome, energetic guy into your life. Together, we’ll make memories that’ll last a lifetime! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Arnold, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Are you looking for the biggest love bug? Well you're in luck! Meet Warren, a 1-year-old large mixed-breed pup with a heart as big as his size! He started his journey with us as a Sumpter Stray, and we’ve quickly learned that although he may look intimidating, he's truly a big softy at heart. Warren absolutely loves attention and isn't shy about letting you know with his adorable little whine. It’s unexpected from a dog of his stature, but it's impossible not to smile when you hear it. He LOVES belly rubs and he's usually napping unless he's busy chewing on a toy. While Warren is still perfecting his leash skills (he’s a strong boy!), he’s always excited to go on walks, and he’s learning how to walk politely on leash. When it comes to playtime, Warren is all in! He’s obsessed with toys, especially rope toys and Jolly Balls. If you see him bringing a toy over to you, it’s his way of saying, “Hey, let’s play!” He’s playful, affectionate, and eager to make sure you’re having just as much fun as he is. Although he will bring toys up to you, Warren is also just as happy to play and entertain himself! Warren is more play motivated than he is food motivated, but he will practice obedience commands when presented with food. He knows sit, paw, and stay! We are in the process of teaching him some more as well. Though we’re still getting to know Warren’s preferences with other dogs, we encourage any potential adopters with dogs to set up a meet-and-greet so we can see how they get along. Keep in mind that Warren’s size might require some extra caution when it comes to introductions. Warren would do best in a home with older children, as his size and excitement can be a little much for smaller ones. But if you’re looking for a gentle giant to be your loving companion, Warren could be the perfect fit for you! If you’re ready to open your home and heart to this hunk of love, come meet Warren today – he’s waiting to show you just how sweet and fun he can be! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Warren, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He was left behind when his owners moved out. Very affectionate. He looks like a goofy, kind of floppy hound dog as he ambles around. He’s sweet and affectionate. Gets along with most dogs. He’s a little bossy with food especially with a timid dog. Feeding in a crate solves that. Loves his play time in the yard with two stout dogs. Great on a leash. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. Tanner's adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225.
