Story
There are no words to express how wonderful this big lovable guy is! Hardwell is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 75 pounds. Here are some nice facts about him: Gorgeous brindle coloring Affectionate, just wants love A little timid and unsure More low key So sweet Poor muffin is hand shy, takes a little bit to warm up Loves belly rubs Walks well on leash Adopter needs to have time and patience to build trust and build his confidence He needs a leader to look to provide guidance and reassurance May prefer a quieter, more predictable type home Another well socialized dog in the home may help with confidence building Needs a home where any children are at least 13 years old with his timid nature If you are interested in Hardwell and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Rio is a mastiff mix who weighs 120lbs! He is looking for a new furever home with his little brother Bruno. They are best friends and love each other very much. They have been through a lot together as of recently. Their owner was forced to surrender the both of them due to having to move out of the country and unable to bring their beloved dogs with them. He has only one request. That they stay together in their new home, so they are a bonded pair. Rio does well with other dogs and kids of all ages, including infants. He is loyal, playful, and affectionate. He is a big baby and is a gentle giant. They are currently living in a foster home with a very nice family, so they will not be able to do walk-ins. An appointment would need to be scheduled to meet these two boys.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. &#226&#128&#139Meet Grandpa! Grandpa is an estimated 12-year-old mastiff mix with lots of love to give! He is friendly, affectionate, gentle, and playful, and loves cuddles with his favorite humans. Grandpa has a playful spirit and simply enjoys being near his people. Grandpa is phenomenal around kids and dogs. Cats are unknown. Grandpa is looking for place to rest his head and be a cherished part of a loving family. His loyalty and affection know no bounds, and his heart is filled with a lifetime of love just waiting to be shared. Grandpa has degeneration of his hind legs, making his mobility slow, but his spirit is youthful. Grandpa has some hair loss along his backside and tail where during recent bloodwork showed possibility of beginning stages of Addison disease, so this will need to be monitored but as of right now he shows no debilitating signs. He has so much love and affection to give, and he hopes to find his forever home! For more information about grandpa please place an application! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 14, 2024, 7:50 am

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)!
