Story
Meet Peterbilt! 🐾 Peterbilt is a 119-lb pure bred English Mastiff who is as sweet as they come—and he has no idea how big he is! This gentle giant truly believes he’s a lap dog and loves leaning in close for affection. He’s loving and happiest when he’s near his people. Peterbilt came with limited information so it is unknown how he does with dogs, cats, or children at this time. Peterbilt came to us when his owner had to unexpectedly move. He has a kind soul and would make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a big dog with an even bigger heart. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will happily fill both your home and your couch, Peterbilt is ready to meet you. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Once approved, we’ll work with you to ensure it’s a great fit—and if it’s not, no worries! We’ll help you find the right match. All of our dogs are adoption-ready and come: •️ Spayed or neutered •️ Heartworm tested •️ Dewormed •️ Up-to-date on prevention medications •️ Up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines •️ Microchipped •️ With a coupon for a free Simply Dub collar from Dubdog Designs

Story
Blair is a shy, gentle girl. She is a new arrival who was picked up as a stray. She was scared and skinny, and hopefully her time at the shelter will improve that. She will thrive in a home that is calm and patient, where she can blossom at her own pace. We are just getting to know her, and we`ll add details as we learn about her personality. But why wait for that when you can come meet her today?Did you know that black dogs are often overlooked in the shelter? They are oftentimes the dogs who stay in shelter care the longest and are chosen last. Break the stigma and adopt a black dog today. Remember, black dogs are the best dogs. Their hair doesn`t show up on black clothing and their coats don`t appear as dirty as they may be. Will you be the lucky owner of a black shelter dog? Blair is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines.

Story
Daisy is a Pitbull Mastiff born on Memorial Day 2020. She’s been part of our family since she was a pup. Daisy loves going on walks, cuddling, and playing fetch though she does not always return the toy. She is loving, a gentle girl who loves human touch and company. She can be anxious at times, especially when she spends too much time alone. I have recently gone through a divorce and life is very busy with my son and more work hours. Daisy spends too much time alone and I cannot take her for walks anymore. I cannot give her the life she deserves. It breaks my heart to do this because I do not want to give her up but I know she can do much better and I need to focus on my son and our new life.

Story
Enid is about four years old and, without reading ahead, go ahead and guess what specific breeds she is. There are five! Drumroll, please... Enid is bull mastiff, Neapolitan mastiff, German shepherd, cane corso, and labrador retriever! All of those in 70 pounds of cuteness. Enid loves laying in the grass, playing fetch (but not so much bringing the item back to you), chewing on sticks, sleeping on her back, getting belly rubs, riding in cars, and hanging out with her people. She is also a fan of playing in water from the hose or in a kiddie pool. However, don't ask Enid to step outside to potty in the rain unless you're willing to go out with her! She is super smart and already knows sit, shake, down, place, kennel, come, look at me, through the legs, and wait (for food). Squeaky toys will motivate her; toys, not as much. Go figure! Because Enid is such a smarty pants, keeping her mind busy helps to keep her out of mischief. While she can't do crossword puzzles, she is really good at snuffle mats, lick mats, and peanut butter stuffed Kongs! If you're looking for a super snuggly, Velcro pooch, Enid is not that. She's fairly independent but will seek out pets and attention. She also likes to sleep in her human's bed sometimes, if she's not napping in her own dog bed. Do you think Enid might be the peas to your carrots? The jelly to your peanut butter? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info! She's in the KC metro, but transport might be available to the right home.
