Story
Meet Dually!!! Dually is believed to be a Mastiff mix about 7 yrs old. Dually has been homeless her whole life. She’s been in rescue since 2016. Really all she needs is a stable secure home with a confident experienced owner with common sense. She is a homebody and would perfectly happy with just her people. She does not do well with cats and is best as an only dog. She minds her own around new dogs once she is comfortable and knows she is safe. But a home of her own is preferred. She loves training and learning commands. Loves car rides and walks. Drive through for pup cups are always fun. Dually lacks confidence and can be unsure at times. Allow her space she needs and build that bond with her and she is that loyal dog everyone dreams of having. An adult home would be best for her. Well mannered teens are ok. Respect, discipline, routine, structure, and common sense Helps dually feel safe and at home. She truly is not difficult and once comfortable she’s absolutely the best friend anyone could want. Dually has been raised with kids as young as 7 years old. Dually is a breed of dog that is not for the weak minded, or non committed individual. She is guarded but disciplined. She is calm and a bit lazy but truly is up to whatever her person wants to do. She makes the best side kick buddy. She needs a strong owner both physically and mentally confident to guide her. She has been well socialized since birth but always lacked confidence. Dually is currently at the sanctuary with Cindy and her children both autistic but high functioning. Cindy trusts Dually 100% with her kids however her children have grown up around dogs and know how to behave, respect, and handle dogs like Dually daily since age 5. Dually has done well with other dogs properly introduced. it takes time and patience. Trust is everything and she is currently 1 of 32 plus in her group who coexist without any issues. She was at one point 1 of 60 free roaming. She prefers her space and loves her crate/cave. Loves her chew toys and comfy dog bed. Dually walks well on leash, off leash trained, her breed makes her very protective of her people, pack and perimeter but obeys well and will not act on it. Dually is crate trained and housebroken. Dually cannot be adopted out within city limits of Fort Wayne/Allen county or Huntington/Huntington county unless its a confident secure home with a full fence and cautions keeping her safe and thriving. These areas are not ok with her breed. A secured fence in yard is preferred 4 ft and up, no tie out, no chain, no garage living. No basement. She needs to by her people relaxed in a big comfy dog bed. Preferred a home with no other pets. Adoption fee partially sponsored. And she is to be an indoor pet and part of the family. NOT A GARAGE OR SHOP DOG unless its with her owner. Dually is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, corona rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, spayed, and current on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 3/25/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Tanjiro`s Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & GreetCats - UnknownKids - A home with adults (18+) would really let Tanjiro thriveTanjiro is a young, intelligent dog with so much potential—he just needs the right person to help him thrive! He’s energetic, playful, and loves engaging with his people, often showing his goofy side during playtime. He’s housebroken (though he’s not a fan of going outside in the cold) and does well in a sturdy crate when left alone. He’s eager to learn and already knows a few basic commands like sit, lay down, come here, and stop.Tanjiro is looking for a confident, experienced adopter who can provide structure and patience as he continues to work on his social skills. He’s a bit cautious with new people and situations, but when given time to warm up, he forms strong bonds. He’s shown he can build trust with familiar faces, but he needs consistency and a slow approach when meeting someone new. While he enjoys walks, he’s still learning how to stay relaxed in busy environments. He’s had friendly interactions with some dogs but prefers a calm, predictable atmosphere. Tanjiro would do best in a structured home where he can feel safe and supported. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and have the patience to help him continue building confidence, Tanjiro could be the perfect match for you!-----Adoption Fees & Benefits:Under 1 year: $2001-4 years: $1005-9 years: $5510+ years: $35Fees include: Heartworm test (age appropriate), vaccinations, flea/tick preventative, complimentary bag of food, wellness exam, and rabies vaccine.Important Notice: A `meet and greet` with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas. Story
Do you want to build a snowman? Oh hey, I didn`t see you there! I`m Olaf. The good news is, you don`t have to build me, I`m already here! I am a friendly boy who came here through no fault of my own. I have done well playing with other doggies. I would likely do well with kids, but I would need to meet them before going home with them. My adopters should know that I have chronic skin and ear issues, so I will need ongoing care. My new family will be responsible for my care after adoption.

Hi, I`m Roxie. I am a sweet angel who is ready to find her fur-ever home! I have not been around many children, but if I join your family, I would love to meet them here first. I have done well with doggies. I can be hesitant when I meet someone, so please allow me to go at my own pace. I would do best with an adopter who gives me the kindness, patience, and understanding I need. I am a scared girl, so I would love to go home with someone who can help me gain confidence. I am very smart, so training should be a breeze with me! I looove car rides! Meet me today for a chance to take me home!My adopters should know that I have chronic knee and skin issues and my new family will be responsible for my ongoing care.

Story
We rescued Doyle from our local shelter as we suspected an obstruction. He received surgery, in which several things were found, including foam and screws. He has recovered nicely from the procedure and has gained over 20lbs! He has had no interested in eating anything other than food since his surgery. We suspect he was starved, and resorted to eating whatever he could find at the time. Doyle is delightful, friendly and low energy. He has no clue that he doesn't fit in your lap, and wants nothing more than to flop his body all over you in lovings! If you have kids, we would recommend children over the age of 10, as he is a big boy!

Story
Harry is a big, lovable derpy dog who loves everyone he meets. Harry is about 85% potty trained and he’s 100% lapdog. He doesn't know how big he is, and wears his love on the outside. He is certainly a very happy dog if he has room to move. No fault of his own, Harry has been bounced around from home to home and did a couple tours of the city shelter when we stepped in and decided to give him a chance. Harry has had very little structure in his young life and he most likely missed the window of development when dogs learn to read other dogs. So, while he absolutely loves other dogs, he has no idea how to read body language. Because of this, Harry will need slow introductions and a tolerant dog friend to set him up for success when meeting other dogs. Harry has some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where he gets to go most places with his people or his people are home a lot. Harry also has no idea that he’s an 95 lb dog with more weight to put on. Because of Harry's large size and inability to read personal space, he would do better with a stronger person of stature. Harry thinks he is still a puppy and can easily be unpredictable with his joy. He's basically a lovable-wrecking ball in dog form. Harry has the stubbornness of a mastiff. If he doesn't want to do something he either plays "catch the mastiff" or "dead mastiff." Both can be frustrating, but also funny if you like that kind of thing. Most of what Harry is trying to avoid is being alone. You absolutely will not find a dog with a bigger heart than Harry. But I’m not gonna lie, he is A LOT. He’s got some baggage from being bounced around. He needs structure, patience, and time. And, of course, lots of love. Are you Harry’s person? Fill out an adoption application on our website, Sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org and we will set up a time to talk about him! *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy
