Story
Meet Barklee No one knows how long I was on my own, but it was enough to lose over twenty percent of my body weight. After being in the shelter for weeks, barely gaining weight, time was not on my side. But thankfully, Hero was able to rescue me! I’m around 1 year old, so I’m still basically a puppy—a big puppy that had a lot of learning to do! But, my fosters will vouch for me that I’m a VERY quick learner. I picked up the basics pretty fast. I know how to sit and I’m potty trained. I will stand at the door when I need to “go,” plus, I know what “leave it” and “inside” mean. When my fosters need to leave the house for an extended time, I will happily rest in my crate as long as my favorite bone is there to keep me occupied. One thing I’m still working on is not getting too excited at feeding time or when my fosters come home. I just get so happy that I can’t contain myself. My fosters are certain that I’ll master the art of self control with time. But because I am such a big boy, this could be a lot for families with small children. With the right introduction and a little time, I will get along with other dogs. I really love to run and play with my fosters’ two dogs! Although I’m bigger than both of them, I know my place. One of them is definitely the boss when we play with toys or if we’re just playing outside. And, I’m okay with that! I also really love getting attention from my fosters! Whether it’s a back scratch or a hug, I just want to be loved. But sometimes I forget that I’m not the only dog and I bump the others out of the way. I’m working on that as well! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Cordelia was born Aug 2021 and is a sweet pocket Pitbull/Mix. This happy girl is deaf and will likely remain small in size. She is crate trained, is working on her house training. Cordelia is an energetic girl. She is dog friendly and has a rough and tumble play style. Cordelia is looking for a patient family that understands that she is special needs, and one that will provide her with the ongoing care. If you are looking for a loving puppy that will never seem to age from a personality perspective, then Cordelia is your girl! She would thrive in a calm house with a fenced yard, limited steps (steps are challenging for her), older kids (teenager and up), and another playful dog. Cordelia is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. For more information about Cordelia, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.July 5, 2024, 10:13 am

Story
Mollina is one of a kind. She's 67 lb , 3 years old and so beautiful. Currently, she lives in a foster's basement but she would really love a home where she could be around her people, cuddling in the evenings and sleeping in her crate at night. She is very smart and treat motivated. and knows an amazing number of commands. She shows no destructive behavior in the house. She like routines and would do best in a home that has structure, continues her training and gives her the time she deserves. She is highly treat motivated and very readable. When she is nervous, she chatters her teeth. She's shy with strangers but warms up quickly with treats. She doesn't like to share treats or toys with other dogs which is why she'd be best as an only pet for now. A knowledgeable adopter with another pet might be fine if they were willing to feed dogs separately and put toys away. Mollina loves her walks. The best way to have her meet new people or dogs from other households is on parallel walks. Mollina is an incredibly loving and loyal dog and she can't wait for a family that appreciates all she has to offer and understands her specific needs.  She's ready to move on up (from a basement into your home and heart.)   Learn more about her on her Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550516274924&mibextid=eQY6cl        Age: 3 years      Weight: 65 lb    Temperament: Good with older sturdy kids due to her size, tends to be leash reactive with dogs but gets along after slow intro   Training: Crate-trained, house training in progress and doing well.  Knows commands,  Sit, stay, come, heel, leave it, wait, place, head down, crate, go to sleep Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative    For questions, please email:   ElizFindsHomes@gmail.com  &#226&#128&#139   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. July 5, 2024, 12:07 pm

Story
🐾 Hello, wonderful humans! My name is Ivan, and I'm here to share my story with you, hoping it will lead me to a loving forever home where I can be cherished and happy. I'm a 3-year-old male Mastiff with a striking brindle coat, weighing a solid 90 pounds. I found myself here at the shelter on 06/15/2024 after getting lost. It's been a tough time, but I'm holding onto hope that you might be the one to give me a second chance at happiness. I'm already neutered, and all my shots are up to date, so you can rest assured that I'm healthy and ready to join your family. Let me tell you a little bit about myself: I'm a really nice boy, possibly house trained, and I know how to sit when asked. I'm very gentle with treats, which shows my sweet and well-mannered nature. You can find me in cage #859, and my ID is 659547. I'm just waiting for the perfect family to come along and see how special I am. Whether it's enjoying a leisurely walk, playing in the yard, or simply lounging together, I'll be there to bring joy and warmth to your life. So why wait? Come meet me, and let's see if we're meant to be together. Together, we'll create wonderful memories and share endless moments of love and happiness. I can't wait to meet you and start our journey together. 🐾 Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
I need to rehome my dog Thor due my current living situation. He has been the best dog I have ever had. He is playful, but also loves to snuggle. He is the best guard dog. He is well trained and wonderful with kids. He is a gentle giant. Thor is scared of thunder storms and fireworks and will need somewhere to hide during those times, he usually chooses to go behind my couch. He has a very goofy personality. Thor would be the perfect addition to someone who loves adventures or even to be trained as a service dog. He's very smart and intuitive. If I hear a noise in my house I can tell him to search and he will search the whole house for whatever made the noise.
