Story
Meet Barklee Barklee is a big puppy who is still learning how to behave. He is easily trained with commands when not distracted. He loves to cuddle and loves blankets. He is still food-motivated, but his favorite treats are ice cubes! As much as he loves people and getting attention, he is still very reactive to other dogs (particularly males). So, continued training is required. With his size (approximately 75 lbs), the fact that he doesn’t know his size or strength, and he’s still learning to make good choices, an ideal home environment at this time would be: - No young children - Single-family home; no apartment - Fenced yard at least 5ft high - No cats - No dogs, unless you’re able to integrate Barklee into the home well over time. He currently lives with two female dogs that were already in the home; they are 50-60 lbs (one dominant, one submissive). However, it’s uncertain whether an existing male/female or dominant/submissive dog in a new home would make a difference/be better - Not being left alone for long periods. He’s used to having at least one person at home or the two other dogs at all time. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Leo is a 16-month-old puppy who is both crate trained and house trained. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Currently, he is participating in basic training that covers commands such as sit, stay, walking on a leash, come, and down. He is already familiar with several commands, including sit, off, release, stop, no, and go eat. While Leo is intelligent, he can exhibit stubbornness at times. He has a loving and affectionate nature and enjoys being around people. The reason for my decision to surrender Leo is due to my upcoming move to a location that does not permit dogs. I hope to find a new home for him, preferably one that has other pets with whom he can play.

Story
Bean is a very sweet girl. She was abandoned on our farm in October. She was born with one eye and a large right paw. She has been seen by vet and does not require surgery - if she had needed we would have payed and taken care of. We are looking to find her a forever home. We love her but travel too much and her size does not make her an easy travel companion.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Cordelia was born Aug 2021 and is a sweet pocket Pitbull/Mix. This happy girl is deaf and will likely remain small in size. She is crate trained, is working on her house training. Cordelia is an energetic girl. She is dog friendly and has a rough and tumble play style. Cordelia is looking for a patient family that understands that she is special needs, and one that will provide her with the ongoing care. If you are looking for a loving puppy that will never seem to age from a personality perspective, then Cordelia is your girl! She would thrive in a calm house with a fenced yard, limited steps (steps are challenging for her), older kids (teenager and up), and another playful dog. Cordelia is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. For more information about Cordelia, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.November 3, 2024, 9:25 pm
