Story
Midas is a strong, loyal pup with a heart of gold. He is very friendly and outgoing, and would love an owner that will take charge and keep him active. Midas will make a great exercise partner and all around best friend. Just don't expect everything he touches to turn to gold...he is still working on that skill. Midas is an 11 month old, 53 pound Mastiff mix. You must own your home to adopt Midas, and he will do best in a home with no small children. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.Adoption fees: dogs, $250 (unless otherwise noted); cats, $50

Story
Pasha is a Boerboel (South African Mastiff) and is a very sweet, intelligent, and trainable dog with an excellent guarding instinct. She loves people, including both adults and children, but she does not always get along with other dogs. We are looking to rehome her because she has had altercations with our other dogs, and we are expecting our first child. Pasha would be ideal in a household where she is the only pet.

Story
MAXX & ME PET RESCUE adoptable dogsMeet Chip!   This handsome Mastiff mix is currently looking for his forever home. He is about 4 years old and 60-70lbs, although he looks larger (think tall, dark and handsome ;-). Chip currently lives with several other dogs and does great, but we feel that he may like to be your only dog or just with one very nice dog. He needs a calm environment.   Chip was rescued from Miami Dade Animal Services after we saw videos of him shaking in his kennel there. He was brought to us in Tampa and has been in a foster home ever since. While he can take a bit to warm up to new people, once he trusts you, he will bond very deeply with you and count on you for reassurance and love. He loves women and chooses them first.    He is cuddly, gives kisses to his people and interacts with the other dogs in his home. He needs a secure 6' fenced yard (no exceptions) and ideally just a single person or a couple for a quiet home. Because of his nervousness, he needs a home without children, just a quiet serene environment where he can love his people.    Chip is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. His adoption donation is $250.    Adoption applications for Chip can be done at maxxandme.org. Please send one email to maxxandmerescue@gmail.com to confirm receipt of your application.    Maxx & Me is an all volunteer, all foster home rescue and do not have a shelter. Please allow at least 48 hours for applications to be processed (missing information may slow the process, so please take your time and be thoughtful in your answers). All dogs posted are available (so no need to ask). We place dogs based on best home for each dog and not order of applications received. Email us at maxxandmerescue@gmail.com for updates and questions. Thank you for choosing rescue. October 17, 2024, 8:07 am

Story
Hi! My name's Cal! People say that it's short for a few things: Calhoun when I'm being regal, Calculator when I'm trying real hard to figure out where I can find some snacks, and Calliope when I am being sweet and snuggly. I am a professional velcro dog with a wildly happy streak! I got a rough start in life when I was dumped as a little pup and left to fend for myself - but I was determined to find my people. When I was finally able to find the road I decided to sit right in the middle of the highway until someone stopped to pick me up... and it worked! I've had a great last year with my foster family - healing a broken leg, gaining weight and learning to be a puppy again - and now I'm so excited to find my forever mom or dad. My perfect day would look like this: First, we sleep in! I love a lazy morning on the couch so take your time getting up... I'll be happily waiting when you come down for breakfast. Before you know it, I'll be by your side in the kitchen - especially if I can have some ice cubes! We can do whatever you want in the afternoon as long and I can be with you. I was alone for a long time as a puppy so I always feel safest with I can spend lots of time with you. If I have a chance I would love to play with another dog - after all, I am a big puppy! - but when play time is over I want to be the one who gets to be by your side. When the sun goes down and you start to get sleepy we can curl up on the couch and I'll put my squishy face on your lap. That way, you can always claim that someone else will just have to get up to get the snacks... after all! You won't want to miss a moment of our snuggle. Cal is guessed to be approximately 2 years old. For an appointment to meet him, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website satchelslastresort.org/adopt/

Story
Judge is a 2.5 year old boerboel and cane corso mix. He is a very large boy who I have owned since he was 6 weeks old. He was raised around children, another dog, cats, and chickens. He has a high prey drive, so he does need constant supervision if he is around cats or chickens. He does get along with my dog and cat, but can be a bit rough because he does not know his size. He loves kids but gets very anxious when they start playing and rough housing with each other. He has never bitten anyone, but I do put him away when the kids start playing because I do not want to put him or them in a situation that would not be fair to either of them. Ideally he would be better in a home where he was the only dog and no kids. He is very goofy and constantly keeps us laughing. He is also incredibly intelligent and wants to please his owners and loves learning new skills or tricks. He has been through professional obedience training that was 8 months long.
