Meet Nicky! Nicky is a stunning 2-year-old black and white Mastiff with a calm and gentle demeanor. Weighing in at 99 pounds, she’s a big girl with an even bigger heart! This laid-back lady is incredibly easy to handle and gets a perfect score on her “lean”—she loves leaning in for affection. Nicky also seems to know 'sit' and 'shake,' though it takes her a moment to remember her commands, which only adds to her charm. She’s well-mannered, easy to walk, and leash gentle, making her a joy to spend time with. Nicky has been at the shelter since December 4th and is ready to find her forever home ASAP! If you’re looking for a mellow, loving companion, Nicky is the one for you. Come meet her today at Yolo County Animal Services, or learn more about her and our other adoptable pets at yoloshelter.org. Let’s help Nicky find the loving home she deserves! !!URGENT!! DEADLINE FOR ADOPTION OR RESCUE-THURSDAY 01-02-25 @ 3;00 PM!!MY ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED!!Meet Eloise, a 4-year-old female Mastiff mix who is ready to steal your heart. This sweet and gentle girl just wants one thing: to be loved. With her soulful eyes and warm personality, she’ll melt right into your side, begging for pets and affection. And if you’re lucky? She`ll offer you her paw as if to say, “Please take me home`. Eloise walks beautifully on a leash, always staying by your side, making her the perfect companion for leisurely strolls or cozy nights in. She knows how to `sit` and is motivated by treats—who can resist that? Unfortunately, this lovable girl is not thriving in the stressful environment of the shelter. With her adoption deadline looming on Thursday, 01/02/25, Eloise needs someone like you to give her a second chance at happiness. If you`re looking for a loyal friend who will fill your life with love and joy, consider welcoming Eloise into your home. She’s waiting for you—don’t let time run out!Eloise recently met a social dog at our shelter. She really wanted to play, but she also got overstimulated easily. Perhaps she could live with a solid dog with slow introductions, or she might be happier as an only dog.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out her playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! My name is Tommy! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? Somewhere between two and three years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a big, beautiful Mastiff mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? About 100 pounds WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m tan with a black mask and it looks like I’m wearing eyeliner. I am a stunningly handsome gentleman, if I do say so myself! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? It is safe to say I am not picky. I will eat anything you offer, but I also understand that it is important to watch my weight due to my size and the pressure on my joints, so I shouldn’t overindulge! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m a little timid toward new things and people, which is pretty typical of my breed. I have been told that I am a little bit like a headstrong teenager who needs to be given boundaries to understand that I can’t jump up on people. If I do jump up, I am responsive to gentle corrections and I am trainable if you have patience with me. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day consists of food, naps, a nice walk, and lots of playtime with my doggy friends. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? All of them, but especially my bones, like a Nylabone, Benebone or a good sturdy Kong. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I am a smart boy! I know sit, shake and down. I also know where my bed is if you tell me to go there. I’m working on stay. WHAT SCARES YOU? I am uncomfortable with strangers in my house and I do not do well with lots of people and activity like parties. I prefer quiet and not many people coming and going. If there is a lot of activity, I am happy to hang out in a safe space, like a crate, with a yummy bone or treat-filled Kong toy. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I need to be in a home without children, neither in residence nor visiting. Kids are unpredictable and don’t understand boundaries. I get nervous when kids get in my space and that is just not a situation you want to put me OR a child in! DO YOU LIKE CATS? No cats for me… HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love, love, love other dogs. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Oh, I love to lay on the couch next to my human. I am happy to do whatever you like to do. A nice quiet night hanging out at home is pretty much my idea of heaven. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m a perfectly healthy boy! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and dad, and there are three dogs here too! My foster mom is my closest companion, and I like being with her because she keeps me safe, feeds me, and gives me lots of cuddles. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I dig my crate. It’s like a man cave! WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Also in my crate! DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love walks! I’m very well-mannered on leash. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I know I mentioned this before in the earlier questions about my personality and my fears, but I want to make sure to explain myself clearly. I am SUCH a great guy, but I need someone who is experienced with large breed dogs that can give me the structure and support I need to live a peaceful, happy life. If I get mouthy when I get stressed or excited, I need you to understand that I am not being aggressive, but I do need to be given proper guidance to settle down. I don’t want kids coming around me when I have a toy or a bone, I don’t want to be overwhelmed with lots of people loudly partying around me, and I don’t want strange people coming in and out of my space making me feel insecure. If I am in a quiet, low-traffic home with one or two favorite humans (and a dog or two would be cool too) loving me, I will be the best boy you could ever want. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes I am! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I was able to play with the hose before a bath one time, that was a lot of fun! And bath time was so relaxing-I’ll do spa day anytime! As for sprinklers…I’m not sure about them yet. They’re a little intimidating. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that they love me! What more could a guy want, right? They take such good care of me and understand that I am sensitive and make me feel safe and comfortable. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I don’t really remember any of that. Because life is so wonderful now, it’s about moving forward and not looking back. Now I am really looking forward to finding my forever family who understands my large breed temperament and will keep me in a safe environment. I really am worth it… I promise! **TOMMY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300** If you are interested in TOMMY please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas.
