Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog F:2This energetic 1-year-old brindle mastiff mix is a lovable goofball who’s ready to bring fun and excitement into the right home! Weighing in at 79 pounds of pure enthusiasm, Top Hat has a personality as big as he is. He’s a playful puppy at heart, with zoomies, bouncy hops, and a goofy, happy attitude that will keep you smiling. Top Hat loves attention and affection, offering gentle paws and sits in exchange for treats. He’s quick to learn and very responsive to positive reinforcement—plus, he has a soft mouth when taking treats and a knack for earning rewards when training polite behaviors like 'four on floor' and leash manners. He loves to be near his human, circling around for pets and leaning into you for those sweet moments of connection. Top Hat’s ideal home would be with someone who’s patient and can provide him with guidance and structure. He’s high-energy, loves to play, and would thrive in an active home with people who enjoy teaching and engaging with a smart, eager-to-please companion. While he’s still working on his dog-to-dog greetings and can get a bit overexcited, Top Hat could do well in a home with a well-matched dog, or could be your solo canine friend if that’s what works best for your lifestyle. If you’re looking for a big, loyal, fun-loving pup, Top Hat is waiting to meet you!January 30, 2025, 9:46 pm

Story
MEET GOLDIE, a beautiful & young Mastiff in need of a foster or forever home! Goldie is a 1-year-old girl and is still a big puppy! She already weighs 90 pounds, and will likely put on weight as she grows up.She was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter. Goldie is a sweet, gentle dog. She is slightly shy, especially with men, but very affectionate once she gets to know you. She gives big kisses! We do not know too much yet about how she is with other dogs, because she caught a doggy cough at the shelter. But given her gentleness, we are expecting she will be good with other dogs, and we will test her soon. She would do well with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids. Please email for an application.

Story
Roman is a big old baby who needs all the love, scratches and play time that you can give him! Roman loves to run and do zoomies all over the yard but does need to be supervised as he does still have puppy behavior and does destroy things. His favorite games are fetch, tug of war and keep away. Once he has burned off his high puppy energy, Roman is happy to lay down on the couch for a nice nap. Check out Roman's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwnQL5npA-5fzZSd7ETv_L-1 Roman knows to sit and wait for permission before eating out of his food bowl. Roman knows his basic commands such as sit and stay, but due to his large size additional obedience training is recommended to help Roman to not knock over his loved ones. Roman was initially in doggy playgroups at the shelter, but given the traumatic experience will need slow introductions to new dogs to be successful. Roman is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Roman to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.
