Story
Duke is a lovable, giant of a dog. He is a large breed, likely a Mastiff mix, and is estimated to be about 3 years old. He knows basic obedience and continues to learn new commands in his foster home. Duke walks well on a leash and LOVES to go for car rides. In his foster home Duke lives with another large dog and cats, however he needs close supervision and strict rules when interacting with new dogs. Duke is a big, happy boy, but he definitely is strong and knows it. Duke is loveable, goofy, sweet and enjoys attention. He will lean into you for scratches and likes to sleep nearby for hours. He spends most of the day sleeping on a pile of blankets, looking outside, and wandering in the sun. Duke will need a home with an experienced dog owner who will continue to work with him. He is a kind boy but can jump and gently mouth when excited. Just due to his sheer size, he can accidentally knock someone down. Duke loves to play chase with a toy and demands good morning snuggles. Duke loves to meet children when out for walks in the park. He has some separation anxiety and can be quite the escape artist. When left alone he will need a 6-foot fenced kennel or a secure crate inside. Duke is trained to respond to a e-collar beep or buzz. Duke's adoption fee of $300 includes a microchip, vaccinations, and neuter surgery. If you would like to set up a Meet & Greet and be considered for adoption, please click on the button with the pet’s name to fill out an application. Someone will contact you within 24 hours. If you have difficulty with the application, please email us at Rescue@AnthemPets.org. NOTE: Only Arizona based adoption inquiries will be considered. Anthem Pets Website: www.anthempets.org

Story
I'm a strong and active boy who thinks I'm a lap dog. I get excited when it's time to go on walks, but then once we're walking, I'm calm. I do get excited when I meet kids, but after I will calm down and I leave them alone, unless they keep playing with me. Little kids might be afraid of me because of my size and run away from me and I think that they want to play, so just watch them. I would do best in a home with older children. My best day would be to: Going for a car ride to a park to go for a walk and then come home and nap. Other tidbits about me: I do fine being left out to roam the house when no one is home, because all I do is lay on the couch. I like being introduced to other dogs slowly and properly, otherwise I get over-excited. If, when I first meet new people and they have sunglasses on, I can get scared. As I am a pretty big boy, I can be strong when I get excited, so you need to be ready if you have the leash. I am not really interested in toys, but there are times when I do get the urge. I do slobber, so make sure to keep towels around.

Story
Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact (Current Owner of Dog):  Leslie, yttaza@gmail.com MEET  ZEUS #17!! Zeus is a big snuggly well-mannered boy. He is low to moderate in activity and loves toys, eating ice, and being by your side. He likes to be the only animal love of your life. He has a best friend dog now that he loves to play with inside only. Once outside, he gets anxious and can get very aggressive with the dog. He shows no other aggression or guarding inside. Continued training may help the issue. Leash training will be helpful too (he is reactive with some dos). Zeus eats with all the other animals and is very respectful, waiting his turn to get his bowl and for each dog to finish eating and drinking.    Zeus needs a fenced yard. He loves to ride in car. He jumps in and out and will lay down for the ride, with or without dog seatbelt. He is easy to put leash and harness on, he will sit for the process. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He is fine out of it too.  Mostly, he wants to please you.   Zeus is a lover and really the best boy. He just does not do well with dogs outside (even his BFF).   He will come with his crate, bowls, leash, harness… He is up to date on vaccinations and annual examination. He loves baths, showers (and has his own robe), and most groomers. Also, good with cleaning with wipes, ear cleaning, and nails…teeth brushing is a fun activity (arm and ab day for you). He has never growled or grr'd at me while I do all of his hygiene. He loves his people. Crate trained, Does well in a car, Likes toys, Protective/territorial, Playful, Eager to please If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com  PLEASE NOTE: This dog is courtesy posted for another individual or Rescue. Story
Penny came to us from the euthanasia list at the county shelter. She weighed a severely overweight 110 lbs and suffered from chronic eye issues. She was going to be euthanized for her medical needs. She was a volunteer favorite at the shelter, and what was more than clear to all of us was that this precious girl had simply never been given the chance to live the life she deserved. Since coming into our care, Penny has lost over 45 lbs and is looking better than we could have ever imagined. She has transformed into the type of dog who would fill her perfect home with all the love in the world. She loooves to play, adores her toys, has learned impressive obedience commands [and impulse control!], and she really is something special. Given her size and strength, Penny would do best with a person or family who can keep up her obedience work at home so she can continue to be her very best self and get in all the walks and activity that she needs. And speaking of home, she would love to be your one and only fur baby, and she made me promise to tell you that a yard for her would be a dream come true. Penny's adoption fee includes her completed veterinary exams, bloodwork, vaccines, microchip and spay. With her in it, we can promise your home won't feel empty again, and she is sure to steal your heart 100 times over...guaranteed! To meet Penny, apply here https://lovethemallrescue.org/penny. She is sure to steal your heart 100 times over.

Story
Meet Mako, a magnificent 10-year-old mastiff mix whose soulful eyes and tender spirit will melt your heart instantly. This gentle giant has journeyed through abandonment and hardship, only to emerge with a kindness that touches everyone he meets. Now, Mako is ready to find his forever home where he can finally enjoy the simple pleasures of a warm bed, loving family, and peaceful neighborhood strolls. Mako's journey began when he was discovered abandoned at a local school, struggling with a noticeable limp and blindness in his left eye. Despite these challenges, he captured the hearts of our rescue team. Under our care, Mako has flourished: his limp has completely resolved, while his blind eye has been removed to improve his comfort and quality of life. This distinguished gentleman enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along wonderfully with older children (his impressive size makes him better suited for families with kids who understand how to respectfully interact with larger dogs). Everyone at the Sanctuary adores how he gently leans into you for pets and cuddles, silently asking for just a little more of your attention and love. Mako walks beautifully on leash, respects doorways and has fully mastered house training and crate training. His understanding of basic commands demonstrates his intelligence and eagerness to please, making him a joy to have around the home. His wish list for his forever family is pretty short: a loving family, neighborhood walks, and a warm bed. Mako’s adoption fee includes his completed veterinary exams, vaccines, neuter and microchip. He's ready to go home with you, bringing his gentle presence and unconditional love to complete your family. Will you be the one to give this deserving soul the retirement years he so deserves?
