Story
CENSUS DEADLINE 3PM 11/09/24Name: Chango-LeonAnimal ID: A763181Age: 8 yearsWeight: 88.20 lbs.About: Chango-Leon is an eight-year-old gentle giant who needs a little bit of time to feel safe and comfortable with new people. He is a repeat resident at the shelter and has had a challenging history, bouncing between the shelter and various homes. He`s searching for his forever family - a family that will not only keep him safe and sound at home but will also share their day-to-day adventures with him.Chango-Leon is a calm and sweet dog, though he can be anxious at times and is particularly wary of new people and situations. A patient and understanding adopter is crucial; Chango- Leon needs to go at his own pace, but if you can let him do that, he’s a big old mush. During a brief adoption, Chango- Leon was reportedly housebroken. We also know that he reportedly loved a kiddo in one former home, though he may do best in a home with older kids (13+). Chango- Leon also spent about a week relaxing in a calm foster home and he did AMAZINGLY! His foster described him as very sweet and a bit of a goof who spent his time sunbathing, snuggling, napping, and exploring the neighborhood. He was housebroken and happy to spend time in a crate in exchange for a treat. A perfect gentleman!! Chango- Leon was adopted again in mid- 2022 but has returned to us after two long years away. This gentle giant deserves to find his happily ever after- we love him and want to see him with a forever family who loves him as much as we do!Chango- Leon has done well sharing his kennel with other dogs his size during prior and recent stays. He was a bit nervous but easygoing overall during his most recent playgroup evaluation. He generally kept to himself but he would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. He will need a home without small dogs or cats and a securely fenced yard is also essential to ensure his safety.Adoption Process:Interested parties:•Must visit PACC before 3:00 PM, November 9, 2024, deadline to meet with an adoption or foster counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit. If you`re interested in providing Simon with a loving and supportive home, please come to PACC before the deadline. Remember, patience and understanding are essential for helping Simon adjust to a new environment.

Story
Bruno is a super handsome big boy who originally came to PACC as a stray. A little uncomfortable with shelter life, he did a great job of putting on a brave face and learning a routine. Here’s what a couple of his volunteer fans had to say:“A super duper good boy! Leashes easily, shy but loves to snuffle his nose in your hand to check for treats. Easy loose leash walker. A mega sweetie pie who could use some confidence building.”“Bruno quietly greeted me at the kennel door. I entered the kennel and he took a jerky treat from my hand and I was able to leash him. On his walk he enjoyed smelling along the trail, and his tail was out. Hopefully as he becomes more comfortable with the routine, he will open up and become more confident.”Bruno was adopted and spent several months in a home. He was reportedly housebroken, enjoyed trips to Starbucks, likes swimming in the ocean, and loves riding in the car. During a brief stay in a foster home, Bruno was a quiet houseguest who did well with another dog in the home.In another longer foster term foster home Bruno did GREAT with other dogs, was calm and well- behaved in the house, and was housebroken and crate trained. Bruno’s foster said that he LOVES toys of any kind and is great with his person. He is well- behaved and smart and knows the commands for sit, come, stay, paw, and crate. Bruno bonds deeply with his trusted person but needs slow intros to strangers. A lower traffic home and time in his crate when folks stop by would be ideal. Bruno is looking for a family that will support him as he adjusts to a new home and who will be aware of his comfort level in new situations. When meeting other dogs in playgroup, Bruno was appropriate and tolerant and mostly kept to himself. He enjoyed exploring the yard and playing in the doggy pool. He has also shared his kennel politely while in the shelter. Please ask to meet Bruno today!

Meet Montana! This big boy could really use a foster home. He came to PACC with a severe rectal prolapse which has been surgerically corrected and just needs to be monitored for the next couple weeks. He is a shy, sweet giant and will hopefully open up in a home better than the shelter. He was found as a stray so little else is known at this time.
