Meet Yogi: The Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold! Yogi is a sweet, loving, and playful 1.5-year-old Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix who is ready to find a family to call his own. Known for their protective instincts and loyal nature, Yogi is no exception. While he’s used to spending time outside, he’s now looking for a home where he can be part of the family and have some indoor comfort, too. He’s a gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws! What Makes Yogi Special: Great with Kids & Other Pets: Yogi has lived with kids ranging from ages 4 to 10 and has been a wonderful, calm companion for them. He also gets along well with other dogs and cats, making him a great addition to any household with existing pets. Livestock Friendly: Yogi has shown some interest in livestock and does well with most, though he tends to play a little too roughly with chickens. He may be a good fit for families with larger livestock like goats or sheep. Playful & Energetic: Despite his calm demeanor around kids, Yogi is still young and has a playful side! He’ll need a family who can keep up with his energy levels and provide him with plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Leash Trained & Eager to Learn: Yogi has done well on a leash and is fairly easy to train, especially when food or praise is involved. He will benefit from consistent training to help him become the best companion he can be. Loves Being Outdoors: Yogi is accustomed to being outside, so a secure yard where he can roam and play safely would be ideal. He enjoys spending time outdoors and is happiest when he can stretch his legs and enjoy nature. What Yogi Needs: Yogi is looking for a patient and experienced family, preferably with a yard or land where he can roam. He is used to an outdoor lifestyle, so a home that allows for outdoor time will be key to his happiness. While he’s great with kids, dogs, and cats, his tendency to play rough with chickens means he may not be the best fit for homes with smaller livestock unless they can be kept separate. As for car rides, Yogi isn’t a fan, so he’ll need a family who understands that travel may not be his favorite activity. He’ll likely need some time and patience to adjust to new experiences in the car, though. Ideal Home for Yogi: Yogi would do best in a home with an experienced owner who understands the needs of large, active dogs, particularly those with guardian instincts like the Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd breeds. He’d be happiest with a secure outdoor space and would thrive in a home with kids or other dogs to play with. He’s ready to settle into a home where he can feel loved, protected, and safe.
