Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)         7m old 9lbs dexter who will be here Sept 17th from Albania Vaccines : up to date including rabiesFriendly with cats: yesFriendly with dog: yesFriendly with children : yesBarker: noSeparation anxiety: noCrate trained: not sureHouse broken: in progress Dexter was reported to us as living on the streets while wearing a collar. We suspected he might be lost, so we shared his story on our rescue page. Almost immediately, we began receiving numerous messages about him. It soon became clear that Dexter had previously been rescued from the streets and adopted by a couple of college students. Unfortunately, he was passed around between dorms like a toy and ultimately abandoned on the street. After learning this, we made another post asking anyone who spotted him to reach out to us. The following day, we received another sighting report about thirty minutes away from the first one, and we rushed to secure him. A young woman demanded to take him back, but we refused to place him in irresponsible hands again. Dexter deserves a loving and stable home. Currently, Dexter is being fostered in a home with another dog, two cats, and two children. He is very friendly and outgoing, loves to play with other dogs, is gentle with the cats, and warmly greets every new visitor. He’s not very big and has the most adorable facial expressions.     All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! Story
Meet MARY-KATE OLSEN! She is “twin” to Ashley and sis to Elizabeth, both of which are up for adoption with us! She is a little under 5 months old and 14 lbs as of mid-October. We think she’s a black lab mix: she’s very slender and elegant, and has the cutest button ears! She is super friendly, sweet and active! She loves other dogs and people! Ashley dreams of finding her forever home, preferably with people who will buy her Starbucks puppacinos, and walk her a lot (although she will be hiding behind trees and sign posts from the puparazzi)! ——————————————————————- *PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently in Puerto Rico.* Once an adopter is fully approved, transport will be arranged to the New York/NJ area. We do adopt out of state, but you must come to pick up. In addition, if you are applying for this dog or any of our pups, you must be open to dog psychology/behavior (Cesar Millan) and fulfilling the needs of the dog. We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority. We ask that you please make sure if interested in a puppy or high energy breed that you are ready for this time consuming/daily endeavor and have patience as this is a long term commitment (could be 15+ years). Please consider your future lifestyle after COVID. Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment is the most important thing in caring for a dog. In addition we cannot guarantee breed of any dog or expected adult size of a puppy. Thank you for understanding.
