***I have a heart condition and will need lifelong care and treatment***Say hello to our latest sweetheart, Mia, a gentle female Miniature Pinscher (weighing in at 3 lbs) who was recently rescued and has found refuge at National Mill Dog Rescue. She may approach with a bit of hesitation, but beneath her reserved exterior is a core of pure sweetness ready to flourish in a nurturing environment. Your loving home could be the sanctuary where her new life blossoms. - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Sweet dog, needs an active owner. She likes walks and/or hiking on a regular basis. She will become attached to her main caregiver and does not like being left alone. So-so in a car. Good with other dogs, but feed separately because she likes to visit other dishes. Will hide during storms. She has a great metabolism and is very strong. She is 10 years old but the energy of a much younger dog. Owner had declining health so I am fostering. Vaccinations updated as of May 2024. She has AKC paperwork, harness, jackets and dishes included in adoption.

Story
Bentley is 8 years old. He joined our family in October of 2016 when he was a couple weeks old, when we were stationed in Texas. He loves to run and any other agile and active activities. Despite best efforts, Bentley does not get along with our 2 year old. He has not been a fan since we brought him home from the hospital, despite our other dog’s excitement. Bentley has a high prey drive. He hunts small animals (birds, squirrels.. etc) in the backyard. We do not want to rehome Bentley but he has proven a danger to our toddler on multiple occasions. We want a home for him that he can run, play, cuddle, get all the pets he wants and most of all love and companionship.
