Story
Welcome Yaya and Boogie, who are a bonded pair of girls that come to us from the community. Boogie is a Chi mix, and Yaya is a Maltipoo and both girls are 12 years old. They are both healthy, vibrant, sweet, and pee pad trained. Boogie is special needs, as both of her front arms are deformed, but that does not stop her one bit. She walks and hops on her back legs and even has a wheelchair cart. Yaya is pee pad and outside trained. Both will need to go to their new home together. The perfect family would need to be willing to help Boogie up and down, have carpeting or rugs for her to gain traction and be willing to continue to spoil these girls in a way they are accustomed. If you are interested in meeting these cuties, please send us an email address to obtain an adoption application.

Story
Nick is a happy 1-2 yr old Maltese mix who weighs about 11 lbs. Nick is playful and fun but is not hyper.  He does love to race around the backyard for a few minutes each day.  He is good at entertaining himself in the house but also would let you throw a toy for him for as long as you are willing.  Nick sleeps very well in his crate overnight.  He would enjoy another small dog who likes to play gently but would probably be too much for a senior dog.  He is good for baths and grooming and has such an all-around nice demeanor.  He is very fast around doorways, so he is best suited for a home where his family can use barriers to block him from open doorways. He is not a dog for a senior citizen.   Nick is crate-trained and doing well on house training but not completely house-trained. He squats when he pees, so he is a young dog and not a "marker." Nick could be an only dog or have another dog under 15 pounds in the home.   The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN.  If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com.  There is an application process and adoption fee.  WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions.  We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business.  Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports.  Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing.  Adoption Fee: $500March 10, 2025, 5:32 pm

Story
Betsy is a sweet 1 yr old Maltese Yorkie mix who weighs about 9 lbs. She came to us from a hoarding/breeding situation in a home with 29 dogs, so she is shy initially, but already starting to blossom.   Betsy is a happy, energetic girl who loves to play with toys and the other dogs in her foster home. Her adoptive home should have another small, social, playful pup not larger than 15 pounds. Betsy enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster mom and her dogs but is also happy to sleep in her own bed in the same room. Coming to us from a breeder situation means everything is new to Betsy, including house training; however, her foster mom says she is learning quickly. Betsy will need someone with patience to help her continue to be successful. Betsy is doing very well with leash walking and will make a great walking companion. Betsy is also becoming more comfortable meeting new people. Betsy's hair is silky soft and requires combing and regular grooming, which she has done well with so far. We require a securely fenced yard for Betsy so she can have the opportunity to play safely supervised in her own yard, and a fenced yard helps with housetraining, and most importantly it is an added layer of safety because she is very quick!  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN.
