MEET GEMMA! Gemma is an adorable 6 month-old Miniature Poodle/Chihuahua mix looking for her “furever” home through PAWS Rescue Inc. Gemma is a natural athlete and a fantastic candidate for agility, barn hunt, lure coursing, and maybe even search and rescue—she’s always got her nose to the ground! She adores people, is cheerful, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. While she’s a bit too curious about my cat, she listens well when reminded to keep her distance. Gemma truly thrives with a compatible playmate. Her energy might be overwhelming for smaller dogs, but she’s a happy, playful companion for those who can keep up! She’s house-trained but will need a refresher in a new environment. She’s also crate-trained for nighttime or when home alone, as long as she has a good bone and a little music (she prefers country-western). Her foster would love to support her new family in helping Gemma be her best self in her new home. She will need another playful dog and a securely fenced yard.

For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there!
