Meet Mandy! Sweet Mandy is such a good girl. She is a Maltese mix and around 2 years old. She came to us with a litter of 8 puppies and only one day after arrival became very ill with eclampsia (this is where calcium levels drop to critical due to nursing so many puppies). We rushed her to the ER and thankfully she made a full recovery. Her pups have all been adopted and now it is Mandy's turn to find her forever home. From her foster mom: Mandy is the sweetest girl. She gets along with my other dogs, she ignores my cat, and wants nothing but love from my daughter and me. It took her about a week to get settled into our routine, and she seems to do really well with that. There's no food aggression with the other dogs, and since she's figured out her designated feeding spot she hasn't tried to steal food from them. She is not a fan of being crated, but we haven't had any trouble leaving her in the house when we are gone, as she is fully potty trained, and isn't destructive. I didn't hear her bark for the first week that she was here, but now that she's more comfortable in her surroundings she does let it be known when someone is at the door or if someone is walking by the window. (I must confess, my dogs are probably not the best influences here). As she's gotten more comfortable, she seems to have become more weary of strangers, however she does warm up quickly. Mandy loves walks, and nothing makes her happier than seeing you grab the leash. She is by far the best behaved dog that I've had the pleasure of fostering. Mandy will be vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. She will be spayed soon (once her body has had more time to recover from mothering her pups). Her adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Say hello to this happy guy, Westin! He is a 3-year-old, 13 LB Maltese/Terrier/Dachshund mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Westin is a great little dog! He loves to be with his people and go on walks and will make an awesome little adventure buddy! He has done great with other dogs in our care and would love another dog in the home as a canine companion, but would also be fine as an only dog if he had continued socialization. Westin has a very sweet and loving side to him and loves to cuddle with his people. He has so much love to give and is ready to be someone’s sidekick! I am friendly and was saved from an illegal Breeding Farm in South Korea. I was rescued with many others by local activists from the horrific conditions we were in. I fought to survive every day and was so badly neglected. Korea kills an estimated 1.5 -2 million dogs a year to be eaten. I just want a chance to be part of a family and for someone to love and care for me. I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family. Take me on car rides, walks in the park and I will become your best friend. I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs. I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love and affection! On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will come to your home and help train your new pup. My adoption fee of $1,595 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle. Meet Jake and Einstein! Oh my, these two are the sweetest little boys. Their owner sadly moved into a memory care facility and could not bring the boys with him. They were left alone in the home for several weeks before other family members reached out to us to surrender them. We're glad to have them in a foster home! They are wonderful. Jake and Einstein are senior boys. Jake is around 12 and Einstein around 10. They are in pretty good shape and don't ask for much. These two sweethearts are the definition of easy-going – low energy, low maintenance, and full of love. They thrive on companionship and are happiest when they’re close to their humans, whether snuggled up on the couch or quietly keeping you company around the house. Both dogs are incredibly affectionate and gentle, making them perfect companions for families, kids, seniors, or anyone looking for loyal, loving sidekicks. Meet Pouchon – a tiny bundle of spunk and sweetness! This little guy has a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loves rough-and-tumble playtime with his brother Val and the resident big dogs, then happily tucks himself in for a nap to recharge. After play, he’s all about the cuddles—Pouchon is as affectionate as he is energetic! He’s doing great with potty pad training (about 70% there!) and loves being near his people and pup pals. Pouchon would thrive in a home where he’s not left alone too often—he really shines when he’s part of the action. With his playful energy, loving nature, and adorable little face, Pouchon is just about perfect and ready to bring joy to his forever home! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
