Story
Ryker would thrive most in a home as he was the only pet. He has been socialized with other dogs but not regularly, and it can be hit or miss. He currently lives with two cats and requires redirection daily when it comes to interacting with them. He has a small dog attitude and requires a lot of attention, so I want him to go to a home where he will be with his owners. Work from home or retired. He sleeps in his room at night, gated, not crated. He is very playful and will bring you his toys to play fetch. He signals to go outside and responds to the question, " Potty?" He eats twice a day, pedigree small breed half and half with pedigree wet food. He is around younger teen boys but not small children and feels more comfortable with no small children being part of your application. He is up to date on shots, not fixed, and does not have bad "unfixed behaviors" if you know what I mean to answer any questions about that.

Story
Meet Vanelle, a sweet 6-year-old Maltese who is looking for a patient and loving home. Vanelle is a bit shy and scared at first, but with time and gentle care, she’ll open up and show you just how much love she has to give. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs (both big and small) and loves snuggling in her cozy sweaters. She’s hoping to find a calm and quiet environment where she can feel safe and secure while building a bond with her new family. Vanelle's new home must have a fenced-in yard. She will not walk while on a leash, and we cannot expect that from her being placed into a new home. Vanelle is up to date on all her vaccinations, spayed, and has had a dental with several extractions. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who just needs a little time to trust, Vanelle might be the perfect fit for you! Story
Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 14 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER!!! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)
