Story
Enzo is due for his shots. Enzo is a loving dog, I answered no to him being good with children but it’s based on age. Not good with children who are aggressive but otherwise he’s fine. He has no teeth so a good safe environment is the most important thing to me.

Story
Bode (pronounced like Bow-Dee) was brought to the shelter almost a month ago and has had quite the transformation! He arrived missing most of his hair with two incredibly infected eyes that were ulcerated and left him blind. The smell coming from his mouth was nauseating and he was clearly in pain. After a much needed dental, flea meds and a bilateral enucleation (both eyeballs removed) Bode is now feeling and looking his best. He even has peach fuzz growing in where he was once bald! We don’t know the circumstances surrounding how a dog in such poor condition was out wandering alone, but we do know he wasn't taken care of properly. Now that he’s doing better and thoroughly enjoying the comforts of a foster home, we are now seeking a forever home. Bode enjoys playing with toys, although occasionally he loses them. He loves his foster dog siblings, even when he bumps into them and they get a bit annoyed. He is NOT a fan of being picked up and would do best in a home without children since he has boundaries he really wishes to be respected. Bode LOVES to snuggle in a warm blanket on the couch, and will paw at you for pets (he can be quite demanding that way!). He does well navigating his foster home with only slight bumps along the way. He’s figured out where the back door is and hasn’t had a single accident in the house since his arrival a few weeks ago. We can see the wheels turning in his head as he learns to navigate life, and this smart cookie is doing an excellent job! With patience, reassurance and a little help we know Bode can be an excellent boy for someone. He’s about 8 years old, about 15lbs and ready to start the next chapter of his life. If interested in adopting Bode please apply here! —> www.easelnj.org/application-dog/ Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Story
Jovie Female Maltese/Poodle Mix 7 years old 7 pounds Health issues: Diabetic (managed) Good with dogs Unknown with cats Calm, gentle, older children only Jovie is an adorable, gentle girl who was used for breeding for 7 years before she was surrendered to Finding Shelter because she was no longer productive. Jovie was shy, scared, not feeling well (she was diagnosed and treated for diabetes), and yet she still found the courage to adapt to life indoors with new people. Jovie is incredibly sweet, her diabetes is controlled with daily insulin, she is happy and loves to cuddle on dog beds, and she seeks human attention now. We know Jovie has so much love to give to an experienced family who will provide the best care while allowing her to continue to blossom. Are you the one? Story
Ashley is a true gem! With her gentle nature and laid-back demeanor, she’s the perfect addition to a calm home. She has lived harmoniously with cats and friendly dogs and gets along well with children, making her a fantastic companion for many households. For nearly 15 years, Ashley has been a cherished class pet in a childcare program. Due to a demanding work schedule, her previous owner found it increasingly difficult to provide her with the attention and care she needs as an elderly dog. They made the difficult decision to surrender her, hoping to find a loving home where Ashley can receive the attention she deserves. Now, at 15 years old, Ashley enjoys lounging on her favorite pillow, savoring treats, and soaking up the comfort of indoor life. While she occasionally likes to venture outside with supervision, she’s happiest curled up indoors. Due to her age, Ashley prefers a home without stairs and will signal when she needs to go outside by barking. It’s important to take her out promptly to avoid any accidents. Ashley thrives in a peaceful environment and loves Gospel music and belly rubs. She gets a burst of excitement when her people come home, greeting them with a wagging tail and joyful spirit. Given her diminished sight and hearing, she would benefit from having someone home with her most of the time. Ashley deserves the very best, and we’re dedicated to finding her a loving, forever home. If you have a quiet home and a big heart, and you’re looking to share your life with a sweet senior dog, please fill out our Adoption Application on our website: https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoptable-pets
