Meet Barkley! Barkley is an 8 year old Maltese mix who was pulled from a crowded city shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia unless a home or rescue stepped up to save him. We were happy to step in and give this tiny little cutie the forever he deserves! Sadly, situations like this happen almost daily due to the severe pet overpopulation problem, as well as the sad reality that people are turning a blind eye to it and are continuing to breed and purchase dogs while thousands of dogs in shelters are dying every single day. If you don't understand, please take a trip to any high kill city shelter and see just how many AMAZING dogs are dying every single day, due to no other reason than lack of homes. If you don't find what you are looking for at a high kill shelter and you adopt from a smaller rescue such as ours, you are still helping save these kinds of dogs by opening up a space at our rescue to be able to pull them and find them a loving home in whatever amount of time it takes. We are now taking applications for Cody!  7 year old Malti-Shih.  Cody is an energetic love bug who is curious about the world around him. He will follow you like a shadow and is the best cuddler. He is great with other dogs and very friendly with anyone he meets. He does well when he’s taken out every 2-3 hours without many accidents. Sleeps well through the night.  Overall great little buddy! Jovie Female Maltese/Poodle Mix 7 years old 7 pounds Health issues: Diabetic (managed) Good with dogs Unknown with cats Calm, gentle, older children only Jovie is an adorable, gentle girl who was used for breeding for 7 years before she was surrendered to Finding Shelter because she was no longer productive. Jovie was shy, scared, not feeling well (she was diagnosed and treated for diabetes), and yet she still found the courage to adapt to life indoors with new people. Jovie is incredibly sweet, her diabetes is controlled with daily insulin, she is happy and loves to cuddle on dog beds, and she seeks human attention now. We know Jovie has so much love to give to an experienced family who will provide the best care while allowing her to continue to blossom. Are you the one? ****Zeke is part of a bonded pair with Lucky Hi. I'm Zeke. I'm a 1 y/o male morkie ( Maltese/yorkie mix) who is part of a bonded pair along with my shitsu sister, Lucky. I am considered a "designer dog because 2 small, non shedding dogs were bred together. I get along well with other small dogs and all people, including children. I am playful and love toys and bones. I also love to sleep in foster mom's bed. My energy level is low and I don't bark unless I hear the UPS guy. I prefer to stay indoors. I am good on the leash and love walking in the neighborhood. I am crate trained, pee pad trained, and almost house broken. I do get nervous in the car if I am not with my sister. So, if you are interested in 2 well behaved, small dogs have your peeps call mine and we'll get this love affair started. Adoption fee local in Texas is $700 for the both of them, the out of state fee is $1200, this includes the transport fee for both of them as well as the fuel surcharge.
