Story
Meet Ttori, a 10-year-old Maltese with a pristine white coat weighing 3.4kg. This little gentleman is as charming as they come! Ttori loves people, greeting both familiar faces and strangers with enthusiasm, often rubbing against them and happily inviting gentle pets. While he hasn’t had the chance to meet children under 13, his sweet and gentle nature makes him a safe companion for kids. He’s so trusting that you can scoop him up with an arm under his belly, and once he feels comfortable, he’ll even roll over to show his tummy. When it comes to other dogs, Ttori is polite and curious, approaching them for a friendly hello, though he’s not interested in engaging in play. He mostly prefers to do his own thing and shows little interest in other dogs or even other animals, like cats or birds. His general demeanor is one of calm detachment. Ttori is a low-energy pup who enjoys relaxing and taking it easy. He spends most of his day napping, but during his awake and walking hours, he can get a bit busy exploring his surroundings. On walks, he’s a dream—following calmly and never pulling on the leash. At home, he rarely barks, making him a wonderfully quiet companion. While he’s comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going outdoors for potty breaks, he has a tendency to mark when in unfamiliar places. He does whine a bit when in a kennel but settles down quickly. While Ttori didn’t show any signs of separation anxiety at the shelter, things are a little different in his current foster home. If his foster mom leaves, Ttori will whimper or even howl for a bit, especially if he senses he’s being left behind. However, if given a long-lasting treat before she heads out, he’ll relax after a while and settle into his spot to rest. This good boy is learning to adjust and shows great potential to thrive in a loving forever home! Story
We are looking for a Forever in Foster home for tiny Jasmine   Jasmine is a spunky 15 year old, 5 pound Maltese toy poodle mix who was surrendered to a shelter.  She has recently had a dental and only has 6 teeth remaining.  Her eyes are cloudy but she can see well enough to get around the house and lead the parade on a walk.  We are not sure about her hearing but she will respond to your foot tapping on the floor or her name if you are close by. Jasmine is quite needy and always wants to be with her person if you are sitting or moving around the house.  Currently she is living with two other small dogs but needs to be the only pup in her Forever in Foster home if possible - she prefers to have her human all to herself.    She is not aggressive with the other dogs, but wants them to know you belong to her and can become vocal about things.   She loves to go for walks and is able to walk quite a distance considering her age. She needs a monthly shot of Librela for her arthritis in her back legs, which the rescue will cover the cost of.  She will bark to go outside but if you miss her signals she may have an accident in the house, or use her pee pad.  Jasmine will only go accompanied in the backyard. On nice weather days she will follow you around the yard after she takes care of business but on cold days she runs quickly back into the house.        With only 6 teeth left she is currently on a soft food diet for the most part but loves a bit of kibble as a treat.  She sleeps on the bed and cuddles on the couch or chair you are sitting on.  She has just recently shown an interest in chasing a ball and will sometimes bring it back to you.    Jasmine is looking for someone who will let her be the center of their attention and give her a soft place to land for her remaining years.January 7, 2025, 9:17 pm

Story
Meet Teddy – Your Loving, Lively Companion! Teddy is an adorable 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix weighing 12 pounds. Born on February 11, 2013, Teddy has spent his life bringing joy to those around him. Now, he’s ready to find his perfect forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and part of the family! A Little About Teddy Teddy is a neutered gentleman who is up to date with his vetting and has been lovingly cared for. While he can be hesitant when meeting new people, once Teddy warms up, he’s an affectionate, social, and lively companion who thrives on love and attention. What Makes Teddy Special Loves His People: Teddy thrives on being around his loved ones and enjoys being included in family activities. He loves being held, soaking up belly rubs, and spending quality time with his humans. Dinner time Leader: Teddy is skilled at gathering everyone together, especially in the kitchen and family movies. There is no need to have a dinner bell. Teddy is the best way to know dinner is ready as he is the first to let you know it’s dinner time and gets you to follow him to the kitchen. Has been around Kids: Teddy has lived with children since they were toddlers, making him a great fit for families with little ones. Other Dogs and animals: In his previous home, he got along well with other dogs and has made friends with pups of all sizes, including a Border Collie and a poodle mix Vocal: Teddy can be vocal especially when he wants attention or feels something needs addressing. Due to this, he may not be the best match for apartments or condos dwellers where noise might be an issue. A home with more space and understanding neighbors would be ideal. Sensitive to His Environment: Teddy has cataracts and limited vision, so a minimal, well-organized space is ideal for him. Special care is needed to ensure his environment is safe and free from hazards, allowing him to move around comfortably without risk of injury. Dislikes Being Alone: Teddy does not enjoy being left alone and prefers a home where he can be surrounded by his family most of the time. Daily Life with Teddy Energy and Involvement: Teddy enjoys going in the backyard, being active and part of the family. Whether it’s a walk, cuddle time, or just following you around, he’s happiest when he’s included in daily life. On walks, he may bark or growl at dogs on the same side of the street but is otherwise unbothered by people or vehicles. Diet: Teddy thrives on a diet of cooked rice and chicken, along with Blue Buffalo Wilderness Small Breed kibble. He also enjoys rice, carrots, and peas, which help keep his tummy happy.  Grooming and Handling: Teddy is cooperative with grooming, baths, and vet visits. While he dislikes any pats on his backside and hips, he loves being pampered with belly rubs and cuddles. He also handles daily eye drops and other care with ease. Medical Notes Teddy had successful CCL surgery on his back left leg in January 2023 and takes gabapentin daily for leg soreness and anxiety. Chronic pain management and monitoring his pain points is essential for Teddy. His cataracts affect his vision, so he relies on his family to provide a secure and predictable environment. Ideal Home for Teddy Teddy would thrive in an active but calm and loving home where his family can include him in their daily activities and provide the special care he needs. Teddy’s ideal home would also include someone who can spend lots of time with him, ensuring he feels secure and loved. Ready to Meet Teddy? If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and energetic companion who needs a little extra care and attention, Teddy is waiting to meet you! With patience and love, he’ll reward you with endless snuggles, wagging tails, and unconditional devotion. Contact us today to make Teddy a part of your family! January 23, 2025, 9:15 am

Story
Stevie is a sweet playful boy. He is a curly haired non shedder who is a year old. He is a mix of what seems to be a westie or a maltese with a poodle perhaps. He loves to stand on his back legs and wave. Stevie is smart and does great with other dogs and is fine with cats. Stevie walks on a leash and is house trained. Stevie weighs about 25 pounds and is bigger than a maltese. One ear turns up and the other turns down. He is a mix of white and apricot and is all around adorable. He would love to go for rides and walks and be trained to do tricks and just have fun. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and healthy. We would love to tell you about him and our foster to adopt program and have you meet him. If live in Ontario within 3 hours of Toronto please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com.
