Hello! My name is Harrison!I came into GHS as a stray in very poor condition. I seem to be both blind and deaf - I don't respond to noises and I frequently walk into things and can be startled by touch. I am a gentle soul who is looking for a home that ideally has some experience or knowledge living with a blind, deaf and or senior pet. I will pace and bark when I'm in a new place. But settle once I have had time to adjust. I'm just looking for a cozy retirement home that can accommodate my special needs and take me for some good sniffari walks, as I do love to use my nose on walks!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: No, I'm a senior guy looking for a very calm home. OTHER DOGS: Yes, ideally another small senior who will leave me alone and not be bothered by me sometimes bumping into them.CATS: Yes.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, given I am blind and deaf, I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Not required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any, however environments where barking is a problem may not be suitable.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: No.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low.I'M ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET: No.HOUSE-TRAINED: No, I do have accidents indoors. Lola, 7 lb, 12 year old Maltese is adorable & cuddly. She's spayed, vaccinated, house-trained, healthy, & her complete blood panel & urinalysis is perfect -- all organ function, biochemistry, & endocrinology fall within the normal range. Her 4dx test revealed no heartworm or tick diseases. Sweet petite Lola is searching for a quiet, supportive adult only home where she will continue to thrive. Sh enjoys exploring the backyard, very comfy couches, blankies & plush pet beds. She's living amicably with other small pooches & a cat. She is fragile, but plucky, Both eyes have been surgically removed due to injury, Despite this, she trots around with enthusiasm. She is not on any medication. A home with a backyard is preferred.
