Story
Meet Teddy – Your Loving, Lively Companion! Teddy is an adorable 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix weighing 12 pounds. Born on February 11, 2013, Teddy has spent his life bringing joy to those around him. Now, he’s ready to find his perfect forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and part of the family! A Little About Teddy Teddy is a neutered gentleman who is up to date with his vetting and has been lovingly cared for. While he can be hesitant when meeting new people, once Teddy warms up, he’s an affectionate, social, and lively companion who thrives on love and attention. What Makes Teddy Special Loves His People: Teddy thrives on being around his loved ones and enjoys being included in family activities. He loves being held, soaking up belly rubs, and spending quality time with his humans. Dinner time Leader: Teddy is skilled at gathering everyone together, especially in the kitchen and family movies. There is no need to have a dinner bell. Teddy is the best way to know dinner is ready as he is the first to let you know it’s dinner time and gets you to follow him to the kitchen. Has been around Kids: Teddy has lived with children since they were toddlers, making him a great fit for families with little ones. Other Dogs and animals: In his previous home, he got along well with other dogs and has made friends with pups of all sizes, including a Border Collie and a poodle mix Vocal: Teddy can be vocal especially when he wants attention or feels something needs addressing. Due to this, he may not be the best match for apartments or condos dwellers where noise might be an issue. A home with more space and understanding neighbors would be ideal. Sensitive to His Environment: Teddy has cataracts and limited vision, so a minimal, well-organized space is ideal for him. Special care is needed to ensure his environment is safe and free from hazards, allowing him to move around comfortably without risk of injury. Dislikes Being Alone: Teddy does not enjoy being left alone and prefers a home where he can be surrounded by his family most of the time. Daily Life with Teddy Energy and Involvement: Teddy enjoys going in the backyard, being active and part of the family. Whether it’s a walk, cuddle time, or just following you around, he’s happiest when he’s included in daily life. On walks, he may bark or growl at dogs on the same side of the street but is otherwise unbothered by people or vehicles. Diet: Teddy thrives on a diet of cooked rice and chicken, along with Blue Buffalo Wilderness Small Breed kibble. He also enjoys rice, carrots, and peas, which help keep his tummy happy.  Grooming and Handling: Teddy is cooperative with grooming, baths, and vet visits. While he dislikes any pats on his backside and hips, he loves being pampered with belly rubs and cuddles. He also handles daily eye drops and other care with ease. Medical Notes Teddy had successful CCL surgery on his back left leg in January 2023 and takes gabapentin daily for leg soreness and anxiety. Chronic pain management and monitoring his pain points is essential for Teddy. His cataracts affect his vision, so he relies on his family to provide a secure and predictable environment. Ideal Home for Teddy Teddy would thrive in an active but calm and loving home where his family can include him in their daily activities and provide the special care he needs. Teddy’s ideal home would also include someone who can spend lots of time with him, ensuring he feels secure and loved. Ready to Meet Teddy? If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and energetic companion who needs a little extra care and attention, Teddy is waiting to meet you! With patience and love, he’ll reward you with endless snuggles, wagging tails, and unconditional devotion. Contact us today to make Teddy a part of your family! January 23, 2025, 9:15 am

Story
Rocky is a 2-year-old female Maltipoo who was once used as a grooming practice dog and later abandoned. Thankfully, she was rescued by Dream Tails Rescue and is now looking for a loving forever home. She weighs just 3.5kg and has a unique mix of Maltese and Poodle, giving her an adorable and charming appearance. Rocky is incredibly affectionate, loves people, and enjoys playing with other dogs. She has a friendly and loving personality, making her a wonderful companion. However, since she previously lived in a wire-bottom cage, she has not yet been fully potty trained. Her adopter will need to patiently guide her in using pee pads, and due to her small size and young age, occasional accidents should be expected. She may also experience some separation anxiety when away from her human. As a playful puppy, Rocky is full of energy and curiosity. She may get into mischief, but providing her with toys and engaging in playtime will help her release her energy in a positive way. While she requires a bit of extra care and guidance, her sweet and affectionate nature will help her adapt quickly. With love, patience, and proper training, Rocky will become the most devoted and loving companion. If you’re ready to welcome this little bundle of joy into your life, she is waiting for you!

Story
Eve was abandoned after being used as a grooming practice dog. She was found living in truly horrific conditions inside a wire cage where her feet would sink through the floor. Dream Tails Rescue rescued her from these miserable conditions, and she is now happily awaiting her forever home. She is an 8-month-old female, weighing 3kg, who is a unique mix of Maltese and Poodle, with a small, beautiful, and lovable appearance. Despite her past, Eve is very affectionate, loves people, and gets along well with other dogs. Because of her past living conditions, she has not yet been potty trained. She will need to be taught how to use pee pads step by step, and due to her small size and young age, occasional accidents are possible. Additionally, she may experience separation anxiety when away from her caregiver. As a puppy, she may get into mischief, but this is an important stage for play and learning. Providing her with toys and engaging in playtime will help her release energy. While she requires a little extra care, her adorable and affectionate personality will help her adjust quickly. With love and patience, Eve will return that love to you in endless ways. 💕

Story
Currently in a Toronto foster home Iven is a three-year-old female Maltipoo who was rescued from a breeding farm in Korea and is now searching for a new life. She weighs around 5kg, making her a small but warm-hearted companion. Despite having had a past of giving birth, Iven remains healthy, full of energy, and ready for a fresh start. What stands out most about Iven is her calm and gentle nature. She is incredibly quiet, so much so that she has never been seen barking. Iven gets along well with other dogs and is very generous, happily sharing her meals with her furry friends. She has almost no wariness towards people and loves to quietly approach them, enjoying affection in return. With a steady and loving temperament, Iven will be a loyal companion, always by your side. Currently, Iven is still in the process of completing her outdoor potty training, and she may occasionally make mistakes. However, for those who prefer outdoor potty habits, she is likely to adapt quickly if taken for walks right after meals or drinking water. Iven is ready to form a deep bond with a loving owner in a calm and stable environment. She is waiting for a family who will offer her the warmth and affection she deserves. If you are looking for a gentle and devoted companion, Iven is the perfect addition to your home.

Story
Meet Doongi, a 5-year-old neutered male Maltese with a snowy white coat, weighing in at a petite 2.5kg! He will arrive in Calgary, AB on April 5th!!! Doongi is a sweet little fluffball who was found wandering around a nursing home and brought to the City Shelter. We believe he was once cherished by an elderly person, and it certainly shows in his affectionate personality. Doongi is a true cuddle enthusiast—he’s not just friendly with people he knows, but also happily approaches strangers, snuggles into laps, and soaks up all the attention he can get. He adores both men and women equally and even welcomes children under 13 with the same gentle affection. Pick him up by slipping your arm under his belly—he’s completely comfortable being handled and loves being held close. When it comes to other dogs, Doongi prefers the company of pups his own size. He’s not too interested in playing with larger dogs and may walk away if they get too excited around him. He’ll allow them to sniff, but he’s more of a people-pup at heart and doesn’t seek out doggy friends—though recently, he’s started playing with a roommate, showing that he can enjoy canine company once he’s comfortable. Cats? Not really on his radar. He’s spotted a few on walks and couldn’t care less, but we’re happy to do more testing if needed. With a low energy level, Doongi is the ultimate chill companion. He’s calm, enjoys relaxing, and is happiest when lounging with his human. He’s a pro on walks—no leash pulling here! He follows along beautifully and doesn’t guard his food or belongings from people or other dogs. While he initially whined a bit for attention, he settled quickly and now waits quietly when left alone. Doongi may give a little bark when he wants something, but he’s generally quiet and well-mannered. He rides calmly in a crate and is house-trained to use both indoor pads and go potty outdoors. Doongi is truly a gem—loving, loyal, and ready for a cozy forever home! View more photos and videos on Facebook: Link to Post Does NAME sound like the right companion for you?
