Story
Aimee is an approximately 1.5 year old Maltese / Poodle mix that currently weighs 9 lbs. She was found as a stray. When she was found she was pregnant, flea infested, severely matted and underweight. Aimee is shy when she meets new people. She does warm up it’s just not instantaneous but once she does she is very loyal and loving. She loves other dogs and is very playful. She likes to cuddle and sit in your lap. If she feels like she’s being ignored or not getting enough attention she’s going to let you know. She likes to play. She will play by herself, with you or her canine friends. She likes playing tug a war. She gets very excited when you bring new toys home. For her there can never be too many toys. She also gets excited for treats. Aimee gets along well with all the small dogs that she has met. If there is fun going on in the house she’s in the middle of it and likely she initiated it. I don’t think she’s had much socialization prior to joining the rescue. In fact when she first arrived to the rescue she kept to herself and was nervous around the other dogs in the home. That old life is behind her. She has adapted well and not looking back. She needs another playful dog in the home. A secure fenced yard is required. She is crate, leash & potty trained. She does very well left uncrated in the home. Her foster home has a doggy door which she enjoys using to go outside and watches the bird feeder to make sure the squirrels stay away. She may need assistance with potty training as she adjusts to a new home without a dog door. At night she likes sleeping on your bed near the foot of the bed. Aimee is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, HW negative, current on HW preventative and micro chipped. Her adoption fee is $250.
