Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jordy's adoption donation is $550 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines, started on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention.  Jordy came into rescue when he was dumped by a puppy mill because he didn't sell. He is a sweet, snuggly boy who is all puppy. He enjoys playing with other dogs, even bigger dogs, and loves his daily walks. Jordy would benefit from an active home with another dog of similar energy level.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  November 2, 2024, 1:19 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Marnie’s adoption donation is $425 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio.  She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.  She has also had a dental cleaning.   Marnie came into rescue from a local shelter as a stray, where she wasn't doing well in the shelter environment.  She is a very sweet and lovable little lady who is doing very well in her foster home.  We believe she was most likely a pampered pupster in her previous home because she LOVES the attention of her people.  Marnie gets along with the resident dog and has great potty skills if kept on a schedule.  She is leash trained but will not potty on leash.  She is not a big walker, much preferring to hang out with her human peeps.  Her most endearing characteristic is her high pitched voice when she can't find her humans or is left alone, so not apartment or condo appropriate.  She would much prefer sleeping with her humans, we believe, but in her foster home she shares a gated area with the resident dog.  Her ideal forever home would be with an older couple with no children and who has lots of time to spend with her and treat her like the princess she is and deserves.  Marnie doesn't require a fenced yard but because she doesn't reliably potty on leash, a fenced area would be helpful.  Marnie would also benefit greatly with a family that has experience with her breed as she tends to be protective of her people sometimes.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
Zeke & Zion are an adorable pair of 3-year old male Maltese mixes who were brought to the HSOV on the evening of October 16, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found them on Zion Ridge Road in the Marietta Ohio. Neither Zeke nor Zion were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped. They are most likely brothers and very bonded with each other. These boys have snow white medium-haired/curly coats, long curled tails, and cute Maltese faces with dark brown eyes, slender muzzles, and short floppy ears. Zeke (pictured on the left w/red leash) is the smaller of the pair and weighs 10.2 lbs. Zion (pictured on the right w/orange leash) is the larger brother and weighs 14.2 lbs. They are both friendly in spite of being very afraid out of their element and in an unfamiliar place. These photos were taken late in the afternoon on October 17th when HSOV Executive Director Amy Rogers and HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn had gained their trust and accompanied them for outdoor photos. And just like trying to photograph children, it was impossible to get both kids looking at the camera at the same time .. or one brother doing something funny to make the other one 'laugh'. Zeke seems to be the more active sibling while Zion is a bit more laid back. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Zeke & Zack will be held for three days so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. Surely someone is frantically searching these little Maltese guys~
