Story
Teddy is a breeder release Morkie (Yorkie/Maltese) who was born in July 2024. He is friendly and loves everybody. He loves to run and play with his little friends and has been learning to walk on a leash. Teddy is pretty new to everything, so he will need to be potty trained and learn the routine of your home. Teddy is a happy energetic pup and he would love to meet you and your family! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Popeye is the sweetest companion you could ask for! This lovable couch potato adores snuggling up with his favorite human and thrives on constant attention. He’s a true people-pleaser who prefers the company of women and loves having someone by his side. Popeye is wonderfully gentle—he’s not food aggressive and doesn’t mind sharing his space with cats. While he’s still working on potty training and can be a little anxious around new people, with patience and love, he’ll shine as the loyal friend he’s meant to be. Popeye had a brief taste of training, and though it lasted just a week, he’s eager to learn and grow with the right guidance. This sweetheart is ready to bring warmth, cuddles, and endless loyalty to his forever home! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.  All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.  The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. ##2186279##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello! My name is Lupe, and I’m a gentle five-year-old Maltese, weighing in at a petite 8 pounds. I may be little, but I’ve got a lot of heart—I’m just still working on sharing it with humans! I’m still shy around people and a bit skittish, but with the help of my foster family and the friendly dogs here, I’m learning to trust and explore the world. I feel safest observing everything from my cozy dog bed, keeping an eye on my furry companions and occasionally following them around the house. I’ve even made a best friend—another female dog here—and she’s teaching me the ropes, which makes me feel more comfortable. I think I’d really love a home with a calm, confident dog who can show me that I don’t need to be worried around people. As for my skills, I’m still learning the basics like potty training and crate time. Right now, the crate isn’t really my favorite, and I’m still getting used to the leash, but I think a fenced yard would make me feel a lot more at ease. When it comes to treats and toys, I’m just starting to figure out how fun they can be—chewing on toys and exploring the yard are all new adventures for me. My foster mom says I’m making progress every day. I’ve gone from spending all my time in the kennel to sleeping on my bed right beside hers! I’m a quiet observer, but I do bark when I get excited for dinner or when the other dogs start barking. With patience, love, and the right furry friend by my side, I know I can blossom into the happy, loyal companion I’m meant to be. So, if you’re looking for a gentle soul who’s learning to trust and ready to love, maybe I’m your girl! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
****Zeke is part of a bonded pair with Lucky Hi. I'm Zeke. I'm a 1 y/o male morkie ( Maltese/yorkie mix) who is part of a bonded pair along with my shitsu sister, Lucky. I am considered a "designer dog because 2 small, non shedding dogs were bred together. I get along well with other small dogs and all people, including children. I am playful and love toys and bones. I also love to sleep in foster mom's bed. My energy level is low and I don't bark unless I hear the UPS guy. I prefer to stay indoors. I am good on the leash and love walking in the neighborhood. I am crate trained, pee pad trained, and almost house broken. I do get nervous in the car if I am not with my sister. So, if you are interested in 2 well behaved, small dogs have your peeps call mine and we'll get this love affair started. Adoption fee local in Texas is $700 for the both of them, the out of state fee is $1200, this includes the transport fee for both of them as well as the fuel surcharge.

Story
Hi, my name is Carrie and I am a Multipoo approximately 6 years old. I am very scared and shy. I find myself shaking and hiding from new people and noises. However, I have surely started liking all that human contact. I will sit on your lap (you will have to help me get on your lap) to get loved on and will just fall asleep until you get up. I have been known to bark at the cats but I know I wouldn't hurt them. I love playing with other dogs who are my size. I really don't like the kennel and prefer to sleep on a bed next to yours. I have started to learn what a loved dog's life is supposed to be like. I am looking for a patient, kind, and loving person to let me sleep next to for the rest of my life and learn the "real" dog's life. Will you be my forever family?  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $525.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2024, 5:17 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Calli. I am a 2 year old Maltipoo. I was a breeder release mamma, so I am extremely scared. Right now, I don’t know how to be a dog, but the other dogs in the house are showing me the way.  They already taught me how to play with dog toys. I am currently on anti-anxiety meds, and they have helped me relax enough that my foster mom can finally touch me! I like to be wherever she is and will frequently go and sniff her as long as she’s not looking. If she does see me, I take off running.  My favorite place to be and where I feel safe is snuggled up with my foster mom in a baby bjorn.  There are cats in my foster home, and I don’t mind them at all.  I’m still pretty darn cute even though I was shaved because my fur was matted. Will you be my forever family? Please??? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
