Story
Meet Jack, a loving and playful companion who is ready to find his forever home! Jack is a purebred, purchased from a reputable breeder in New York for $3,000. He is fully up to date on all his vaccines and shots, so you can rest assured he is healthy and happy. I do ask for a $900 rehoming fee, to ensure the individual is committed to care for Jack. Jack adores attention and snuggles and has a sweet personality that makes him a joy to be around. When you are busy, he is content to relax in his crate and waits patiently for your return. Unfortunately, due to my increasingly busy schedule, I am unable to give Jack the time and care he truly deserves. I am looking for a loving family or individual who can provide Jack with the attention, affection, and playtime he craves. If you are looking for a loyal, cuddly friend to brighten your days, Jack might just be the perfect fit for you!

Story
Meet Redd, a spirited little guy who’s ready to find his forever home! At 14 years young, Redd was surrendered by his former family but was fortunate enough to be welcomed into a loving foster home with COALDR just an hour later. This delightful pup has more spunk and energy than many dogs half his age! Each morning, he bounds outside with enthusiasm, eager to explore his yard and greet his doggy friends. Weighing in at just 11 pounds, Redd is a charming Poodle/Maltese mix and is currently fostered in Smithfield, VA. Redd has a cataract in one eye and is likely blind in that eye. His other eye has age-related vision loss, but he can see shadows and navigates his environment quite well. Redd is house-trained but prefers to use pads overnight. He’s had a thorough medical check-up and is in excellent health. This lovable boy gets along great with everyone, so a home with older, respectful children would be ideal. Because of his limited sight, he may not be comfortable around very young kids. Redd loves mealtime and isn’t shy about expressing his impatience if he has to wait. Aside from that, he’s quite a calm pup who would do well in an apartment setting. Redd enjoys leisurely walks and loves spending time outside, exploring his yard. He’s great with other dogs and adores every person he meets. If you’re ready to give this fun-loving little fellow a cozy retirement home, please complete an application to adopt him!

Story
Rocky is an adorable, silly and sweet adult pup. We are unsure of his exact age, but the vet seems to believe he is about 9 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. Rocky would do best with a dog savvy, active family with no young children. He's 100% potty trained, loves to take walks in the neighborhood and going for rides in the car. He gets along great with other small dogs but is indifferent to playing with them. We are unsure about his compatibility with larger dogs or cats. Toys and balls are Rocky's favorite and he keeps himself well occupied with them. However, he can get a little possessive and will guard objects if you try to take them from him. Caution needs to be taken with Rocky when needing to remove a particular possession from him, but he will gladly be distracted by a replacement item. Rocky loves to sleep in bed with his people and gets so excited at bedtime and in the morning that he rolls around kicking wildly. He just loves life and is one happy little boy! Rocky would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and where his family is home more often than not, but if his family are active and committed to taking him on regular leashed walks, a fenced yard is negotiable. Rocky will also require regular visits to the groomer and it is recommended he is muzzled when strangers are handling him. However, he absolutely loves being brushed at home and spins in circles when he sees the brush come out. Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped & on preventative. He is located in Greenville, South Carolina. If Rocky sounds like a good match for you, please complete an adoption application today at www.coaldr.org

Story
Hey everyone. You are right if you think we, Angel (f) and Benji (m), are the cutest you have ever seen. We are a bonded pair. We cannot remember how long we have been together. Our human has gone home to the Lord. There is no family member to take us. So, instead of taking us to the shelter, the hospice people called our foster mom to help. She, just like the hospice nurses, couldn't send us to the shelter. We have no idea what has happened. Our whole world has changed. We are adjusting fine. But what we need is a forever family who will love and spoil us rotten. We are terrific and delighted. We love to go in the backyard and do our business while running around. But our foster mom also leaves a potty pad down inside. Angel (f) is 15 years old, a Maltese, and approximately 15 lbs. Her left eye is starting to cloud up, and her left ear might be slowly hearing less. She is still happy, playful, and active. Benji (m) is a 10-year-old Shih Tzu mix, approximately 24 lbs. He is a sweet, happy, and playful fellow. He is nervous around his foster mom's 3-year-old grandchild when he comes to visit. He is in perfect health. Angel Female Spayed Breed: Maltese Color: White Age: 15 yrs Weight: 15 lbs Benji Male Neutered Breed: Shih Tzu mix Color: Light Tan & White Age:10 yrs Weight: 24 lbs Great with people, children make Benji nervous, dog & cat social. Adoption Donation $ 650 (for the pair)

DOB 5-25-2024 Amir is a sweetheart! This little boy is social, loves toys and friends to play with and gets along good with others. He is neutered, heartworm negatiive and received his ProHeart 6 injection. His adoption fee is 750.00 and his transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Munchkin, a senior 9-pound Japanese Chin looking for a quiet retirement home where he can spend his golden years. Munchkin's age is estimated to be 12+ years. He's visually impaired as well as hearing impaired, and although he can't see or hear when the refrigerator door opens. Munchkin recently had a cardiac ultrasound; his heart murmur is graded as a 5/6. But there is no underlying cardiac damage. A veterinary partner does not recommend medication at this time. Munchkin's house manners are perfect. His foster home has a fenced-in yard and a deck with six steps. They carry Munchkin down the stairs, place him on the grass, and return inside the house within two minutes. Munchkin can go up interior stairs but will need someone to carry him down. Most people observing Munchkin would find it hard to believe he's visually impaired. He appears to be able to see larger objects during the day but has a difficult time with small items like his food bowl. Due to Munchkin's size, age, and health, we believe Munchkin's ideal home includes a quiet adult-only household. Want to learn more? Fill out our application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Munchkin is being fostered in Shrewsbury. The adoption fee is $100. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
