Story
Meet Jack, a loving and playful companion who is ready to find his forever home! Jack is a purebred, purchased from a reputable breeder in New York for $3,000. He is fully up to date on all his vaccines and shots, so you can rest assured he is healthy and happy. I do ask for a $900 rehoming fee, to ensure the individual is committed to care for Jack. Jack adores attention and snuggles and has a sweet personality that makes him a joy to be around. When you are busy, he is content to relax in his crate and waits patiently for your return. Unfortunately, due to my increasingly busy schedule, I am unable to give Jack the time and care he truly deserves. I am looking for a loving family or individual who can provide Jack with the attention, affection, and playtime he craves. If you are looking for a loyal, cuddly friend to brighten your days, Jack might just be the perfect fit for you!

Story
DOB 5-25-2024 Amir is a sweetheart! This little boy is social, loves toys and friends to play with and gets along good with others. He is neutered, heartworm negatiive and received his ProHeart 6 injection. His adoption fee is 750.00 and his transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Redd, a spirited little guy who’s ready to find his forever home! At 14 years young, Redd was surrendered by his former family but was fortunate enough to be welcomed into a loving foster home with COALDR just an hour later. This delightful pup has more spunk and energy than many dogs half his age! Each morning, he bounds outside with enthusiasm, eager to explore his yard and greet his doggy friends. Weighing in at just 11 pounds, Redd is a charming Poodle/Maltese mix and is currently fostered in Smithfield, VA. Redd has a cataract in one eye and is likely blind in that eye. His other eye has age-related vision loss, but he can see shadows and navigates his environment quite well. Redd is house-trained but prefers to use pads overnight. He’s had a thorough medical check-up and is in excellent health. This lovable boy gets along great with everyone, so a home with older, respectful children would be ideal. Because of his limited sight, he may not be comfortable around very young kids. Redd loves mealtime and isn’t shy about expressing his impatience if he has to wait. Aside from that, he’s quite a calm pup who would do well in an apartment setting. Redd enjoys leisurely walks and loves spending time outside, exploring his yard. He’s great with other dogs and adores every person he meets. If you’re ready to give this fun-loving little fellow a cozy retirement home, please complete an application to adopt him!

Story
Rocky is an adorable, silly and sweet adult pup. We are unsure of his exact age, but the vet seems to believe he is about 9 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. Rocky would do best with a dog savvy, active family with no young children. He's 100% potty trained, loves to take walks in the neighborhood and going for rides in the car. He gets along great with other small dogs but is indifferent to playing with them. We are unsure about his compatibility with larger dogs or cats. Toys and balls are Rocky's favorite and he keeps himself well occupied with them. However, he can get a little possessive and will guard objects if you try to take them from him. Caution needs to be taken with Rocky when needing to remove a particular possession from him, but he will gladly be distracted by a replacement item. Rocky loves to sleep in bed with his people and gets so excited at bedtime and in the morning that he rolls around kicking wildly. He just loves life and is one happy little boy! Rocky would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and where his family is home more often than not, but if his family are active and committed to taking him on regular leashed walks, a fenced yard is negotiable. Rocky will also require regular visits to the groomer and it is recommended he is muzzled when strangers are handling him. However, he absolutely loves being brushed at home and spins in circles when he sees the brush come out. Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped & on preventative. He is located in Greenville, South Carolina. If Rocky sounds like a good match for you, please complete an adoption application today at www.coaldr.org

Story
Pinky is available to meet by appointment. Submit an application at CapeAnnAnimalAid.org/Adopt and an Adoption Counselor will reach out to you.Pinky can be a little persnickety when first meeting him, and doesn’t like being touched much until he has time to get to know you. However once you have this guy`s trust, he will be asking you for head scratches and pets all the time! Pinky has done very well in his foster home, and has really started to relax and open up. He`s even started to snuggle up next to people on the couch and take naps. This is big for this little guy, given the condition he was in when he first came to us. Pinky was found wandering the streets and never claimed, so he was not the most trusting of people in the beginning. Also, when he first got to us his skin was bright pink, irritated and he had a ton of hair loss- we believe a mix of his poor health and lack of positive interactions with people lead to his handling sensitivities- with positive reinforcement and the right medications he has come a long way but there is still room for improvement. Luckily this guy is a major foodie so snacks are definitely the key to earn his trust. He is pee-pad trained and does really well indoors, so anyone looking for a low key dog who doesn`t need to go out much would find their perfect match here! Despite his rotund figure he is quite playful! He loves his toys- stuffies that crinkle and squeak, balls he can chase after- you can tell he really loves a specific toy when he makes little piglike snorts. Once he knows you, he will make happy snorts when you walk in the door as well, which is just the cutest thing ever. Pinky certainly knows how to make you feel loved! There is no way not to love him when you see him sleeping belly up in his big fluffy bed, which he often likes to do. He just needs someone to give him a chance and let him have a bit of time to get to know you, and also someone who understands small dogs who can be a little particular, or dare we say, cranky at times. Pinky is looking for an adult only home so that he can continue to become accustomed to handling and build a bond with his person at his own pace. He is considered a special needs adoption due to his thyroid issues that he is on medication for as well as his handling sensitivities. Despite all his quirks, Pinky can be a really great dog for the right type of person and we’re sure his perfect match will come along. Do you have persnickety little dog experience and
