Story
Meet Bentley! This sweet boy came into the rescue after his owner passed away, and the family asked Worthy Dog to help rehome him. Bentley has been in his foster home for the past two weeks, which has given us a chance to get to know him. He’s currently being fostered with a retired foster mom, Renee, and two other dogs, and has done very well as part of a pack. He’s also been great meeting the grandkids who visit on the weekend. We checked in with his foster mom, Renee, for an update: “Bentley is pure joy. He’s a love bug who just wants to give kisses and be with his person. You would never know he was the new foster, and he fit in with my other dogs right away. He is calm inside the home and has great house manners, but he is still an active pup who loves to run outside and explore the yard. He gets the zoomies and runs and prances around. He is so precious and cuddly. Bentley is housebroken and will go to the door to let me know he needs to go out. He has never had an accident in my house. He has great leash skills and likes to go for walks but not long walks. He prefers to get his energy out running in the yard. He has pure joy. I have not crated Bentley and he has always been well-behaved when I leave him home alone. He sleeps in the bed with me at night and sleeps peacefully through the night. I think Bentley is very adaptable. He would make a good only-dog because he quickly connects to his person, and his human family is the main focus of his attention. He gets along very well with my dogs and is very respectful, but he doesn’t interact with them much because he wants to be on my lap and follows me wherever I go. If I get too busy in the house, he will lay on the couch until I sit back down….so he’s not overly needy, just very focused on his people. You can tell he’s used to being an only dog. He's also been great with my grandkids who visit, and he would do fine in a home with kids. A few things to know about Bentley....He is not crazy about being picked up unless he comes to you. His lower jaw is a little more narrow than his top jaw, and his teeth don’t exactly hit together, so he picks up his food with the right side of his mouth. I soften his kibble and mix wet food in with it, then clean his mouth after eating. He’s really the sweetest boy and an excellent companion. I would keep him if I could but there are too many more that have to be rescued!” ****** Apply today!
