Story
Sweet Honey is the princess of the world, and the headrest of any sofa! She adores sunbathing, snuggling, playing, and loving on other small dogs! Since being in foster, Honey has been nearly 100% house-trained, having very minimal accidents, and being honestly, one of the most perfect little girls in all of the universe! Honey came to us from living in a very unfortunate environment, with her puppies; she's become healthy, spunky, and just amazing since then, with the love and care of her wonderful foster family! She currently lives with another small dogs, and kids - but we believe she'd thrive in most loving environments! We cannot get enough of this sweet face!

Story
Émile “ The Big Deal” aka Meal Deal! Meal Ticket, Meal Worm… foster mumsie likes to rhyme. My name is fancy and French as a nod to my fancy French maltipoo lineage. Here’s a little about me you’ll want to know. I’m 1-2 years old , abt 13lbs and boast the most marvelous low shedding curls. Also.. my fur is he magic stuff that doesn’t stick to your yoga pants, sofa,or cause the leaky nose. Lucky you! Snuggle me with no worries. I love to go on walkies. I go several times a day for short walkies and to see tree cats( squirrels)…I can only chase tree cats. Inside cat says no..and I respect her pawsition! Have you seen their murder paws? No thank you! I’m on my best behavior around Fierce Fiona the inside cat. I also dig playing with my other small dog foster friends and roomies. I’m a real smarty pants with a little mischievous streak that you’ll learn to love when you ask for a kiss and I come bouncing to you and give…kisses on command! Best trick ever. I’m almost completely potty trained and do use my pee pads in an emergency. I’m kennel trained so I don’t get into trouble when foster mums not home, and….I’m not a yapper. Let’s hang out….forever! You just pick me and my people will get back to you. Foster mom here: Émile is a happy, bouncy little dog with all the love to give. He will do best in a home with med energy and another small dog to play with. Daily walks are his favorite. He is very smart and even climbs trees so he does need to be supervised and have a very secure yard or be properly leashed. He is available for adoption locally only so you can come and meet him here and see him in the environment he’s used to. He is timid at first in new places but warms up quickly. He’s been very good with gentle kids, but will also love “sharing “their toys. He is a bit of chewer and has been learning redirection very well. Local adoption fee is $400.00 (in TX)

Story
Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 14 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER!!! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
Welcome to rescue, Timmy!  He doesn't know it yet, but Timmy is beginning a life of love after being released from a commercial breeder.  He is adjusting to his new surroundings and foster family.  Timmy is very sweet and likes to snuggle!  He is learning how to play with toys and be a puppy. Timmy has a soft spot on his head and is being treated by a doctor.  We encourage you to go ahead and apply so Timmy's new family is ready for him when he's ready to move! Timmy was released into rescue from the breeder due to having "soft spots" in his skull that were not closing.  He was seen by a vet, but will need additional testing to determine the cause and treatment.  Applications are being accepted, but an adoption will not be completed until a diagnosis and treatment plan has been determined by a veterinarian.  We just want potential adopters to be fully aware of his medical condition and able to provide proper care on an ongoing basis as needed. Facebook post Jan. 5, 2025Muddy Paws was contacted in December to take a 14 week old, 3 pound, morkie puppy from a breeder who was surrendering him due to his having symptoms of hydrocephalus which caused the top of his skull to not finish closing.  Along with the request was a picture of an adorable tri colored puppy.  Of course we said we would gladly help this pup and quickly made arrangements to do the transport.  When Timmy finally came to us he looked absolutely nothing like his picture, so some of our volunteers started lovingly referring to him as Timmy TEMU, because you think you're getting one thing and you end up with something else.  But our Timmy could not be any more perfect to us!  Timmy soon started behaving like a normal pup and loved playing with the other puppies in the home under the very watchful eye of the foster mom, because any bump to the head could have a serious consequence.Today, Timmy met with a neurologist and all suspicions were confirmed.  Timmy has hydrocephalus and possibly other  congenital issues.  Surgery is not an option and the suggested course of action is to monitor him for changes in behavior or medical decline.  Timmy also needs a specially fitted cranial helmet to help protect his brain in the area where 50% of his skull bone is missing.  Most of all, Timmy needs a quiet adoptive family with one or two adults who are home most of the time, or who are willing to take him places with them, so he can be monitored for seizures.  For if he had one and hit his head, he might not survive.   Timmy will also need an adopter who is in the financial position to keep regular appointments with his neurologist to regulate his medication and monitor his condition.  Timmy's prognosis is completely unknown.  His life expectancy will be determined by his response to medications and his ability to prevent any injuries to his brain. Timmy's story may be heartbreaking, but it's clear to us that right now Timmy is an active puppy, happy, and loving his life.  If you are interested in finding out more about Timmy, please go to our website, MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com to fill out an application or contact us to learn more about the adoption process and requirements. Let's help find Timmy his forever home!If you want to help donate to get Timmy his helmet, please visit:PaypalMuddypaws2chancerescue@yahoo.com OrVenmo@MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescueThank you! The suggested adoption donation for Timmy is $500, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. Needs special attention,
Story
Nessa (b. 1/2020) is a Maltipoo with a very sad past... While driving on a cold afternoon in December, a good samaritan caught a glimpse of this 11 lb pup laying in a ditch. They immediately stopped and scooped up this little gal who was alive but paralyzed from a broken back. After having no luck finding her family, an MP volunteer was contacted and Nessa was quickly brought to rescue. Numerous clinics and specialists were consulted and it has been determined that Nessa is not a candidate for surgery. Nessa is a master scooter and a total diva.  Nessa needs a home that understands her needs and will allow her to live out her diva life.  There are a number of potential complications that Nessa may experience, which means her future is uncertain. Therefore, this sweetheart is looking for a foster to adopt or furever foster who can stomach the hard truths that come with a pet in Nessa's condition. Nessa will need a situation that allows for her best human friend to be home more often than not, and will need to be kenneled when left alone to make sure she stays safe. She requires a diaper and regular maintenance throughout the day to keep her clean and feeling comfy! Muddy Paws will continue to monitor Nessa's health and will provide on-going financial support for her future. Nessa loves to be carried around the house by her foster and she's got a good eye for making sure everything is in its place! Nessa is a sweet pup who loves to give kisses and is the best little couch cuddler you could ask for. For now, Nessa is nestled up comfortable, safe, warm, and living her best life! If you are curious about Nessa and her requirements, reach out to Muddy Paws for more information. Due to her medical needs, Nessa needs an adopter / foster that lives within a 50 mile radius.  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
