Story
Moto is a good dog that requires more attention then I can give him. He enjoys attention from kids and anyone that'll give it to him. He likes catching his treats in the air by tossing them towards his mouth. Motos a quiet dog until someone knocks at the door, so that's a plus. I'm sure he'd like going for walks more. I just don't have that time. He comes when called. Likes warm baths. Never any shoe or clothes biting. He like tissue though. Up to date on shots. Incorporate pumpkin(can) in his dry food though or his poos will be too hard. He does sneeze at times. Loving dog that deserves more attention or a friend to play with. He does get car sick on long windy roads. And he will howl if left alone. So he needs a playmate or someone there mostly. I will miss him, I just don't have the time I used to. He's neutered, up to date on shots and a good temperament. A family dog for sure.

Story
Name: Hazel Breed Guess: Maltese/Havanese Mix Age: 8 years old Gender: Spayed Female Weight: 20 pounds Children: Yes, 10+ as Hazel needs a quiet environment Dogs: Yes, calm dogs. Best home would have another dog. Meet and Greet Required. Cats: Will test upon request Adoption fee: $475 Hello! I've been living in a foster home with the ARP since 6/9/24. They wanted to make sure I was perfectly ready for adoption, and I am now! I have lost quite a few of my teeth (I only have 3 left now) as I'm an older little dog. I still eat pretty well and like wet food and soaked kibble. Prior to being at the rescue, I was used for breeding and was debarked. Taking this all into consideration, I would do best in a calm home and with another dog as I thrive with a doggy buddy and have always lived with one. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
