Little pup seeking the back of your recliner or couch to share. Introducing Teddy, a 2 ½ year old, 7-8 pound, Morkie (Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier cross) with a silky, soft coat requiring routine grooming. Teddy needed a few months to decompress and settle into foster care so we could get to know him and help him secure his forever home. This little guy’s personality is more like that of a Terrier; he’s independent, knows what he likes and doesn’t like, is playful, and loving to his people. Teddy does not trust people right away and will require time to adjust to the adopter. Teddy came to our rescue after his owner fled her home because of domestic violence issues. Understandably, he requires a very calm home, without children, and a patient, understanding adopter.  As you could maybe tell from the opening sentence, one of Teddy’s favorite places to lay is on the back of his foster mom’s recliner chair. He enjoys overseeing the activities of the house’s other dogs from his perch, having a good cuddle, as well as sleeping under his blanket. Teddy’s foster home has several small dogs in the home and he really enjoys playing tug and chase with them.   Teddy has some emotional scars from the life he lived prior to rescue, but he has made a lot of progress these past several months. We are hoping that you are that special person willing to give this boy a chance to become your best buddy. He deserves a wonderful new life. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Must have a securely fenced yard, and an adult only household. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, dewormed, groomed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS need to be requested from acaringplace@comcast.net   Our online application is not working properly. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. After discussing with the family, they thought it was in her best interest to find a new home and furever family that could give her all the love and attention she deserves! Olive’s favorite things include snuggling, being close to her humans, and getting her favorite treats throughout the day. She has no interest in toys and would do best in a calm, relaxed household. She has been around kids and would do best in a home with children 10+ years old and other dogs who respect her space. When Chicago Animal Care and Control reached out about five severely neglected dogs in desperate need, we had no idea just how heartbreaking their condition would be. Jamaica, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Patra, and Reggae — all under 2 years old — had clearly spent their short lives in unimaginable filth, pain, and neglect.Their coats were so matted, tightly pulling at their skin, that several had to be sedated just to be shaved. The smell of urine and feces was overwhelming — a painful reminder of how forgotten they’d been. Once we could finally see the dogs beneath the tangles, we discovered Reggae had a large growth on his eye that required immediate surgery to remove it.They were rushed to our vets, cleaned up by our patient groomers, and shown compassion — maybe for the very first time.Now, they need something more — a home. A kind, patient family who will give them the safety and affection they’ve always deserved.
