Story
Hello, My name is Nana . . . I am a fun-loving 8-month-old Maltese/Chihuahua puppy. I weigh just 10 lbs. (all of which is LOVE). My foster mom says that I am “so much fun to hang with”! I’m looking for my FURever home where I can hang out with my new people (and maybe another furry friend). I promise to offer cuddles and kisses and am so excited you might become part of my story as I learn more about this great big world!
General Behavior: Nana is such a great dog. She’s very loving and does great with her foster family, dogs and a cat. She is a wee bit unsure of men at first but warms up to people quickly with proper introductions. She’s adventurous, affectionate, gentle and playful. Like any puppy, she is also curious and an enthusiastic little “wiggle-butt”. Likes & Dislikes: Nana loves toys – any kind of toy. As a puppy, you will want to make certain she knows what items are “real” dog toys, versus what items are not toys. This snuggly gal loves to cuddle on your lap, but also is happy snuggling in a dog bed with her foster sister. Training: Nana has good basic manners and is walking well on a leash. She tolerates car rides. She is doing great with house training and will need to continue being let out on a regular, consistent schedule . . . just like any other puppy. Medical: Nana is a healthy pooch who will just require her monthly heartworm and flea prevention. She has one additional vaccine booster (due in February) and the cost of this will be covered by Poodle and Pooch Rescue. This vaccine can be done at our vet partner or your vet office. Other Animals: Nana is experienced with small dogs her own size and she loves to play with them. In Nana’s perfect future home, she would have a “sidekick” to play with and snuggle with. She also has been fine with the cat in her foster home. Children: Nana has not been around children yet in her young life. Since she is so small, and learning all about “puppy life”, we feel older children (8 years and older) might be better for Nana. Of course, all children must be respectful of her small size and her space, as well as be supervised by the “grown-ups” in the home. Home: Nana isn’t picky. She will be happy in a single-family home, condo, town home or apartment. In her foster home, she has been left for several hours in her own space without issues. After a day of play, this love-bug will settle into her own soft space and dream of all those toys she can play with the next day. Or, if allowed, she will gladly sleep in the “big person” bed at night so she can be even closer to you. Grooming: Nana won’t need any elaborate grooming, but it would be good for her to have periodic grooming. She can also have “at home spa days” for nail trimming and bathing. Overall: Nana is excited to find her new home where she will find love, playtime, cuddles and a life-long commitment from her new people. We just know this special gal will warm her way right into your heart.
Are you the one for Nana? Please visit our website, www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with her foster family if it’s a potential match. Nana is vaccinated (one additional vaccine is needed in Feb. that is covered by PPR), spayed and microchipped. Her adoption donation is $525.
