Story
Highlights:-Needs confident, canine sibling-Needs fenced-in yardMeet Macy, a 10-pound Maltese Chihuahua Poodle mix whose journey from shyness to spunk is nothing short of inspiring. When she first arrived, Macy was very shy and nervous, but she is growing more confident every day as she learns that her new environment is safe and kind.Macy will need some time to warm up to people, but with patience and love, she will surely come around. She would greatly benefit from having a more confident dog in her new adoptive home to show her the ropes and help her build her own confidence. As she does not walk on a leash yet, a fenced yard is essential to keep her safe. This spunky little girl isn`t afraid to tell you what she wants and has the cutest little elf ears that seem independent from her body, turning around like satellite dishes to take in every ounce of her environment. Macy is one of the cutest dogs you`ll ever see, and her charming personality is sure to win you over. Are you ready to offer Macy the loving and patient home she needs? This adorable pup is eager to find her forever family and share her unique blend of sweetness and spunk.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Meet Blaze: A 10-Pound Bundle of Love and Intelligence!Blaze, our sweet Maltese, is thriving in his foster home. This 10-pound cutie has quickly won over everyone he meets—dogs and humans alike. His foster family’s dogs, also NMDR rescues, welcomed him with open paws, and Blaze fit right in.Though initially cautious, Blaze has shown how intelligent he is, quickly learning commands like “wait,” “touch,” and “pickup.” He was a little fearful at first, but with patience, he’s come to trust and embrace gentle handling. Blaze does wonderfully with calm, small dogs and would love to have another dog friend in his new home to help him continue to grow in confidence. He even enjoyed meeting extended family over Thanksgiving, showing his sweet and adaptable nature.Blaze loves calm, kind humans—he’s particularly attached to his foster dad, who is very gentle and patient. This lovable boy is ready for a forever family that will appreciate his gentle spirit, give him all the love he deserves, and provide a calm doggy companion to guide him along the way.Are you the calm, loving home Blaze has been waiting for?- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another dog in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardNeeds a quiet homeMeet Sparkle, a delicate 7-pound Maltese who’s a bit reserved and prefers to observe from a safe distance rather than dive into direct interactions. Right now, she’s more comfortable watching humans rather than approaching them, but treats might just be the key to unlocking her trust. Sparkle tends to pace, a gentle sign of her unease, but we know that with time, patience, and love, she will start to settle and find her peace. In playgroups, she enjoys the company of other dogs but remains on the outskirts, soaking in the scene. Sparkle needs a calm, understanding family who will let her grow at her own pace. A confident dog companion in her new home would be a wonderful guide for her, helping her learn to trust and feel secure. Since she’s not yet leash trained, she’ll need a secure fenced yard to explore safely. Sparkle has a tender heart waiting to bloom; all she needs is a patient family to let her shine.- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Story
Highlights:Has a health issue and needs long term careMeet Harry: A Sweet Observer with a Heart of Gold Harry is a gentle, calm Maltese who is soaking in all the wonders of his new world. This sweet boy has a quiet, observant nature and loves to watch the world go by. Meal times are a highlight of his day—he gets so excited that he joins the rescue choir with his own special melody to celebrate! Harry can often be found standing at his kennel gate, patiently waiting for someone to stop and give him a loving scratch. Though he’s still learning to be brave, his heart of gold is unmistakable. Though cute as can be, Harry does have a spinal injury that will need long term care. He has a collapsed disc which is possibly putting pressure on his spinal cord causing straining to urinate and an abnormal way of walking. He will need additional testing and a possible intense surgery to know for sure. As he does not appear to be in pain, NMDR will not be pursuing this testing at this time. For the future, he will need a family who can care for his medical needs and who will love him just the way he is.He’s looking for a family who understands that he may be a little shy at first, but with time and patience, he’ll blossom into the most loving companion. Could you be the one to show Harry just how wonderful life can be? - - - - - Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Story
Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued DogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Baron, and I am beautiful, Maltese boy who was born 4/19/22, and I weigh 12 pounds. I need a home with another sibling my size to teach me the ropes about this big new world. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous, young Maltese that is past the puppy stage, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org.
