Story
Meet Snowball! Snowball is an independent shy boy looking for a calm, quiet and mature home. He will need slow introductions to people and someone who is repectful of his space until he is comfortable. It is unsure how he does with other animals so slow and proper introductions are needed to help him feel safe. He will need help with potty training and ample time to adjust to his new home.

If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Baron, and I am beautiful, Maltese boy who was born 4/19/22, and I weigh 12 pounds. I need a home with another sibling my size to teach me the ropes about this big new world. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous, young Maltese that is past the puppy stage, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. My name is Gizmo, and I am a Maltese+ boy who was is about 5 years old, and I weigh 9 pounds.I had a very rough start in life. My back leg had a birth defect that caused me to be in constant pain. Finally, I was dumped at a shelter, and upon the Dogtor determining that, for me to be comfortable, myback leg had to be amputated. The shelter didn’t have the resources so they contacted BRAS to see if wecould help this boy. Of, course we took him. MY back leg was amputated and is healing well and I getaround just fine on 3 legs.I need a quiet home where I will be the center of my new parents’ world. Because I was in so much painfor so long, I became defensive about being touched so I am learning now that it doesn’t hurt anymorebut I would do best as an only child in an all adult home.If you have been waiting for a nice companion, please ask for me on your application tohttp://www.breederadoptions.org.Love, Gizmo 091224-01November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm

My name is Haven, and I am a little Maltese girl who was born 5/15/19, and I weigh 7 pounds. I am very afraid of this big new world so would benefit from a socialized sibling to play with. An all adult home please. If you have been waiting for a little Maltese girl, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
Meet Melvin! Melvin is an adorable 8-pound Maltese with a heart as sweet as can be. This little guy loves pets and attention, and he’s not afraid to show it! You’ll often see him hopping around, gently begging for cuddles and affection. While Melvin can be a tad shy when you first meet him, it doesn’t take long for his friendly and loving personality to shine. He adores treats and will happily take them right from your hand, making bonding time even more fun.Melvin gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and would love to have furry friends in his new home—or he’d be just as happy being your one-and-only cuddle buddy. All he asks for is a warm lap, plenty of love, and lots of pets. This sweet and friendly boy is looking for a home where he can be the center of attention and showered with the affection he deserves. Could you be the one to give Melvin the forever love he’s been waiting for? - - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bugaloo  may be small in size but he’s BIG in love! At a trim 10 pounds, this two-year-old sweetie loves cuddling and snuggling with his foster mom, resting his head on her and having his belly rubbed as much as he loves amusing her by sometimes sticking out his tongue and dancing about in delight. Definitely a devoted “ladies’ man,” he’s initially wary of men although he eventually warms up to them. More of a comfy, cozy couch companion than an eagerly energetic pup,  Bugaloo  does enjoy playing with his doggy foster friends both large and small, likes toys, especially rope toys, and looking out the window on car rides. Since he presently prefers taking shorter walks, he’s just starting to work on his leash skills and on being more at ease around the new dogs he meets. Motivated by food and love, he currently knows “come” and “no,” eats and sleeps in his crate and is almost fully house-trained. With much still to learn and much love to share,  Bugaloo  is best suited to a loving home, perhaps with a friendly dog already there, and patient adopters who will continue his socialization, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him in cuddles fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $600. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
