Story
Hi, I'm Bradley, aren't I the cutest pup you've ever seen? Imagine me nesting sweetly in your lap and soaking up pets! Your lap and going for my daily walks are my favorite things. I've got lots of pep and usually my walks are about a mile round trip. I hope you can keep up with me! I'm sweet and confident and I lived well with another dog, although I may prefer being your only doggie. If you have a fur sister or brother for me, or older kids, bring them along so we can all get to know each other. By the way, I'm used to sleeping on your bed or on my bed in your room, so let's plan for that, too. Let's try out your lap; I bet we're a perfect fit!October 14, 2024, 8:46 pm

Story
Four-year-old Queenie rules her foster mom’s heart with sweetness and grace. The curly-coated 10-pound cutie loves snuggling and cuddling with her, resting her head on her, hiding under the covers and then dancing daintily about. Easygoing with a touch of independence, she also enjoys curling up on her foster mom’s lap or sitting contentedly by her chair on the floor. Occasionally playing with small toys and chewing bones, she especially enjoys going for long walks, expressing her joy at being out and about by the happy bounce in her step! She calmly ignores the other dogs they pass, and although she’s gentle with youngsters, older children are more Queenie’s “cup of tea.” Motivated by food and love, eager to please and to learn, she currently knows “come” and “no,” and is diligently at work on both her crate and house-training. Now all this petite queen of hearts needs is a loving home, preferably with other playful pups, and patient adopters to complete her training, including her commands, and keep that happy bounce in her step fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $600. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy that needs our help. Popcorn was one of these dogs that deserves, due to his excellent temperament and all the love he'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing. Popcorn is the kind of dog who, once comfortable in his environment, snuggles in close, loves you up and then puts his head on your shoulder breathing his warm breath. He's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love. Popcorn is a cute as can be 12 week old, 6 lb Maltese / West Highland White Terrier mix that is nothing but pure love. This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to his new life, will be a friendly and engaging pup giving 100% of his heart to his new family. Popcorn is a perfect size and weight to be able to accompany his favorite people everywhere a wonderful smaller dog is welcome. He will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and love of life. Our dream for this very loving dog is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes him for life. As Popcorn becomes more and more comfortable in his forever home, he will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more this sweetie pie will shine with his accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see Popcorn in a home that includes him in family time and activities (and some lap or couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a very smart and cooperative dog like Popcorn the skills to accompany his family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area. Popcorn would be a devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, fun-loving and irresistible young pup. This social guy would love to have another gentle and fun dog to play with as well as family members who would enjoy interacting in fun activities. Popcorn is so much fun to watch as he puts his positive energy into enjoying the day with his beloved foster family. This little guy would do very well with a young family that works from a home-based office. He would bask in the attention and cuddles periodically throughout the day that this life-style offers. Popcorn appears to be (although we can't swear to it..this information is as per Arkansas vets) a non-shedding puppy with the scruffy hair that works so well for those with allergy concerns. Due to this, Popcorn will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are excellent protocols for longevity and coat care) to keep Popcorn's hair super- healthy, cottony-soft and matte-free. Phoenix is up to date on his vetting / vaccinations (found to be a healthy and well-adjusted puppy) to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Extensive new research indicates that Phoenix is far too young to be neutered at this time. When this little guy is approximately 12 months old, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Phoenix's microchip and neuter if one of our rescue vets is used. Phoenix will be arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 10/30/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Popcorn please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
There's nothing quite like puppy sweetness and silliness...and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These gorgeous puppies are so pure and vulnerable (with their whole lives lying in front of them) that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone. Phoenix is a cute as can be 12 week old, 6 llb (anticipated to be approximately 10 lbs when full-grown) Maltese / West Highland White Terrier that is just waiting to be the love of a family's life. Phoenix is starting out with great energy. While initially shy, this sweet puppy is blossoming in his rescuers home as he learns about living in a safe and nurturing environment with love and kindness . Now at 3 months old, while still shy, Phoenix's self esteem is getting better each day as he learns that he's a very valuable guy that has so much to offer a dog-loving family. Phoenix's coat is currently shelter-sad. This gorgeous guy's forever family will need to make a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and hair care) to keep his coat super-healthy, shining and as soft as cotton. Phoenix is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's also so loving and cuddly once he's comfortable in his environment. This snuggly little guy would be very excited to be a couch potato and snuggle with his favorite people at the end of an active day. Even at just 3 months old, it's clear that this puppy is SO smart and sweet - very typical of the Terrier personalities. Many would say these two breeds are the most loyal, intelligent and intuitive in the dog world. Since Phoenix is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - Phoenix will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in his relationship/bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Phoenix out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area. We're open to Phoenix finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart puppy. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a puppy that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Phoenix enjoys his relationships with all humans and dogs. We would prefer, however, to place him in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Phoenix will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Extensive new research indicates that Phoenix is far too young to be neutered at this time. When this little guy is approximately 12 months old, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Phoenix's michcrochip and neuter if one of our rescue vets is used. Applications are currently being accepted for this adorable and sweet as can be puppy. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. Story
Holly is a very sweet 9 year old girl who does not need anything than sunlight to lay in. She sleeps in a kennel at night. She is always up for activity but more than happy to lay around the house all day. She does not play much anymore so would be best with people who like to cuddle more than play. We need to rehome her because she has not handled the transition of adding a baby to the house well. She has been very stressed and scared since he came home 6 months ago and it is not getting any better. The good news is, she is been back to her old self while at my moms house. She is such a good girl and will make the right family very happy for many more years. We want to find the right place for this super sweet girl.

Story
Here's Parker!! This little cutie got off to a rough start in life, but he is learning to trust people. Parker is nervous at first, but if you are patient, he will warm up to you. He loves treats and already walks nicely on the leash. Parker is guessed to be a 5 year old male Maltese. He is a handsome boy with beautiful eyes. Parker loves to play once he relaxes and seems to enjoy petting. He is absolutely adorable and likes to cuddle up next to you or in your lap once he feels safe with you. He is the perfect size for snuggling!!! Parker has spent time with our professional trainer working with him on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training, leash and car training. He is now living with a volunteer in their home. Please consider Parker!!
