If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.organd follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-idealconditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the groundafter living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed andgiven vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable forpeople with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center oftheir world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do notmeet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an amplesupply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderfulcompanion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we willadvise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have beenchecked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of ourrescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. Westate if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be ableto spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under anycircumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children andwe do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are notwilling to pick the dog up at its location.Hi! My name is Gizmo, and I am a Maltese+ boy who was is about 5 years old, and I weigh 9 pounds.I had a very rough start in life. My back leg had a birth defect that caused me to be in constant pain. Finally, I was dumped at a shelter, and upon the Dogtor determining that, for me to be comfortable, myback leg had to be amputated. The shelter didn’t have the resources so they contacted BRAS to see if wecould help this boy. Of, course we took him. MY back leg was amputated and is healing well and I getaround just fine on 3 legs.I need a quiet home where I will be the center of my new parents’ world. Because I was in so much painfor so long, I became defensive about being touched so I am learning now that it doesn’t hurt anymorebut I would do best as an only child in an all adult home.If you have been waiting for a nice companion, please ask for me on your application tohttp://www.breederadoptions.org.Love, Gizmo 091224-01November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm
