Story
Four-year-old Queenie rules her foster mom’s heart with sweetness and grace. The curly-coated 10-pound cutie loves snuggling and cuddling with her, resting her head on her, hiding under the covers and then dancing daintily about. Easygoing with a touch of independence, she also enjoys curling up on her foster mom’s lap or sitting contentedly by her chair on the floor. Occasionally playing with small toys and chewing bones, she especially enjoys going for long walks, expressing her joy at being out and about by the happy bounce in her step! She calmly ignores the other dogs they pass, and although she’s gentle with youngsters, older children are more Queenie’s “cup of tea.” Motivated by food and love, eager to please and to learn, she currently knows “come” and “no,” and is diligently at work on both her crate and house-training. Now all this petite queen of hearts needs is a loving home, preferably with other playful pups, and patient adopters to complete her training, including her commands, and keep that happy bounce in her step fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $600. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy that needs our help. Popcorn was one of these dogs that deserves, due to his excellent temperament and all the love he'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing. Popcorn is the kind of dog who, once comfortable in his environment, snuggles in close, loves you up and then puts his head on your shoulder breathing his warm breath. He's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love. Popcorn is a cute as can be 4 month old, 6 lb Maltese / West Highland White Terrier mix that is nothing but pure love. His estimated full grown weight is around 10-15 lbs. This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to his new life, will be a friendly and engaging pup giving 100% of his heart to his new family. Popcorn was found as a stray in Arkansas, living in a bush with his mom and 4 other siblings. They were rescued and brought into a small shelter, and then booked a ticket to Colorado for a fresh start. Popcorn is now in a foster home in Colorado, waiting to find his forever family. Popcorn is a perfect size and weight to be able to accompany his favorite people everywhere a wonderful smaller dog is welcome. He will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and love of life. Our dream for this very loving dog is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes him for life. As Popcorn becomes more and more comfortable in his forever home, he will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more this sweetie pie will shine with his accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see Popcorn in a home that includes him in family time and activities (and some lap or couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a very smart and cooperative dog like Popcorn the skills to accompany his family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area. Popcorn is so much fun to watch as he puts his positive energy into enjoying the day with his beloved foster family. This little guy would do very well with a young family that works from a home-based office. He would bask in the attention and cuddles periodically throughout the day that this life-style offers. Popcorn will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are excellent protocols for longevity and coat care) to keep Popcorn's hair super- healthy, cottony-soft and matte-free. Popcorn is up to date on his shots, although will still require 1 more parvo booster as he gets a bit older, before it is safe to go out on public ground. He is not yet neutered, as he is too young. It’s been shown that neutering closer to 1 year old is better for the dog’s health. For this reason, we give any puppy under 1 until they are 1 year old to be neutered. Neuter is required by law to finalize any adoption, and Farfel’s Rescue covers the full cost of his neuter. Popcorn is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Popcorn please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Sweet little Cupid is a 3-4 year old, male, Maltese/Poodle mix (we think). He’s 18 lbs and that makes him the perfect, go anywhere, size. Cupid loves his humans. He likes to hop in the car and take a ride, go for leisurely strolls, and snuggle up with his foster mom. Cupid is well mannered in his foster home. He crates easily but doesn’t enjoy being left in his crate too much. He’s dog friendly, but is best suited with an easy going female that won’t try to interfere with his 1:1 time with his humans. He’d also be perfectly content being the only dog in the home. Cupid is being fostered in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/cupid/. Story
Dawn is a precious Maltipoo, guessed to be around 6-8 yrs old, and is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates timid, shy and scared dogs. She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart! Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these scared dogs and is working with her on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, leash and car training. She also has an amazing group of volunteers that meet twice a week to help socialize all the scared foster dogs in her care. There are lots of other dogs at her foster mom's house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to do a minimum of one paid training session with her. This training session is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training will help the family and this sweet dog adjust to their new life together much quicker than trying to do it on your own. She provides a discount on training to her adopters.

Here's Parker!! This little cutie got off to a rough start in life, but he is learning to trust people. Parker is nervous at first, but if you are patient, he will warm up to you. He loves treats and already walks nicely on the leash. Parker is guessed to be a 5 year old male Maltese. He is a handsome boy with beautiful eyes. Parker loves to play once he relaxes and seems to enjoy petting. He is absolutely adorable and likes to cuddle up next to you or in your lap once he feels safe with you. He is the perfect size for snuggling!!! Parker has spent time with our professional trainer working with him on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training, leash and car training. He is now living with a volunteer in their home. Please consider Parker!!

Story
Hi, I am Charlie and the rescue thinks I am a 7-year-old male Maltese. I am a handsome pup (so I am told), shaved shortly before going into foster care to remove all the matted hair. I was VERY scared initially since I had never been held or touched much, but I am learning that human cuddles and love feel very good. I am told that my foster family, Joy and her son, Andrew, are very good at loving / rehabbing us scared littles since I am a perfect size for snuggling. Just so you know, I have real puppy eyes that melt your heart! I will need an adopter with lots of love and patience to let me learn according to my comfort level, but I promise I will be very loyal and will adore you once I understand that you are safe and love me. I will probably do best in a quiet home with adults or older children, although I really enjoy being part of a pack, especially confident dogs like my foster siblings that can teach me about "dogging". (By the way, there is also discounted support / specialized training available in Fort Collins for owners of scared dogs like myself.)
