Story
Hi, I'm Bugaloo. More information coming soon!   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $600. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Bentley is a very sweet two year-old Maltese. We purchased him from a breeder in Colorado in July of 2023. He has never bitten, he is very calm, but he does have extreme anxiety around new people and places. He seems to react well with other dogs, but he is more likely to flee from situations that cause him to feel outnumbered or as though he is in danger. he does have EPI which is exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, and this condition requires him to take an enzyme with each meal. The medication is a bit costly, and he does require special food. At this time, we are feeding him The Farmer’s Dog, which seems to be working OK. He was only recently diagnosed with this condition, and financially, it can be a hardship for those who are not prepared for this type of investment for the rest of his life.Other than that, he is very kind, very sweet and only needs someone who is willing to spend time with him and love him. We have experienced no major issues with him other than EPI.

Story
There are many, many Maltipoo lovers in the world today. This snuggly breed mix is considered to be very loyal and loving companions as well as absolutely gorgeous! Their popularity is due to their consistently great temperaments, overall intelligence and super-sweetness. There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their fluffy, cottony coats and soft, expressive eyes. Charlie is a beautiful and sweet as can be Maltese with a bit of Poodle in the mix for extra cuteness. These wonderful dogs are known, among other things, for their luxurious non-shedding coats (a great choice for those with allergy concerns) , sweet temperaments and loving and cuddly personalities. Charlie will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition. A daily salmon oil supplement along with premium food is a great choice for a gorgeous coat and a very long, healthy life. Charlie is just about 2 - 3 years old (this is such a great age..past babyish behaviors with many, many active and healthy years ahead). Our sweet guy weighs 13 lbs, a perfect weight for long walks on Colorado's breathtaking trails, back yard fun and sharing the bed or couch after a fun day of play, walks and tons of loving. Charlie will be initially shy due to all the changes in his life We feel it's important that Charlie's forever family has the time and energy to give to this adorable guy. With tons of love, nurturing and clear boundaries/ leadership provided by his humans, Charlie will emerge as a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. He's so gorgeous both inside and out and deserves a family that appreciates the gifts of his awesome temperament and is willing to show him boundaries through love, kindness and time spent. We would like to have Charlie join a family that is retired or works from a home-based office. Charlie loves his people with all his heart and is too sensitive to be left alone for the long hours of a family that works full-time outside of the home. We are searching for a very loving, dog-crazy family for Charlie. He would be thrilled to spend his days in the company of his people cuddling and playing. Another like-sized, gentle and fun doggie playmate would be perfect for Charlie. He (like all dogs) is happier and therefore more well-behaved if he's fulfilled with exercise and fun followed by snuggling with his favorite people. It would be a family that spend lots of time at home (or chooses to take a sweet dog with them to dog-friendly situations) that would provide a great forever home for Charlie. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued and full-time member of their family. Charlie enjoys his relationships! While Charlie enjoys humans of all ages, we would prefer to place him in a home with only older dog-crazy kids (tail pulling, awkward handling or rough treatment will lead to a dog that's fearful of children). Older, loving kids can be best friends with Charlie and active participants in a training regimen that's so important to a dog's development as a well-behaved adult dog. Charlie will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to fulfill our commitment to a euthanasia-free future. Charlie will be arriving on transport in the Denver area on Saturday 12/28/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Charlie, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's Farm adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Max the Maltese! This adorable, quirky, 6-7 lbs boy is Max. He’s approximately 2 years old. Max is king of the castle and despite his small stature, he has a big personality. He joined MHCR from a high intake shelter in Houston. Max is dog friendly but doesn’t like to share his humans so couch snuggles will need to be managed at first. Max is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/max/.
