Story
Rusty is a very friendly boy who is always happy! He walks with a bounce in his step and has a constant wagging tail! He loves people and always wants to be the center of attention! If you're looking for a little shadow and a lap dog, you've found your guy! Rusty won't leave your side! He enjoys being held like a baby and will fall asleep in your arms. If you stop petting him, he will paw at you for more! We would love to find him a family where someone is home often. He wouldn't enjoy being alone for long periods of time. He gets along with other animals but has no interested in playing with anyone else. He would honestly prefer to be the only pet so he doesn't have to share any of the affection but, if you have a quiet, independent dog, he would do fine! Rusty is only with us because his previous owner passed away. He was loved and we can tell! He is approx 6 to 7 years old and about 10lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. We haven't had him long, but he appears to be housebroken because he hasn't had any accidents in the house! He is also crate trained but would prefer to be free if possible. He loves car rides and going for walks, but must wear a harness because he will pull until the collar makes him cough! If you're interested in adopting Rusty, please submit an adoption application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.orgJanuary 19, 2025, 9:26 pm

Story
Meet Hope! When Hope's mom and dad separated, neither of them were able to take care of her, leaving Hope in need of a new loving home. Hope is a special needs dog, being both blind and hearing impaired. She is trying to be brave, but adjusting to new places and people at this stage of her life is a bit overwhelming. Our hearts ache for this sweet girl, and we are searching for someone who will offer her the gentle care and love she deserves. Despite the upheaval in Hope's life, she is very sweet and melts in your lap. She enjoys spending time outdoors, wandering around in the yard or riding in a stroller, sniffing the fresh air, and listening to the birds chirping. Hope also enjoys car rides, mealtime, naps, and feeling the sunshine on her face. She does well with both cats and other dogs. Soon after Hope arrived, she went on a two-week Frosted Fling. After spending this time in a calm home, Hope became more relaxed and seemed to grow stronger, walking better and adjusting well to her environment. Her Fling Mom noticed that clapping her hands to let Hope know where she was helped Hope feel more comfortable and less startled. As Hope learned her way around her new surroundings, her spirits lifted. Hope is currently on a second Fling and is doing so well! Her Fling Family reports: "Hope has been with us on a fling for a week already, and we absolutely love every moment of her company. We also find her easy to care for. Her routine is pretty simple - sleep, out to potty and sniff, walk around for a few minutes, eat, find a comfy bed to sleep, repeat. Hope never fusses or makes any noise at all, is easy to pick up and carry, and enjoys ear rubs. Her vision and hearing impairments don't deter her from making her way around our house and yard. She gets along perfectly with our dogs (two of them are blind like her). They all sniff each other and wander around together. Hope enjoys taking in the smells at the harbor or short walks in a stroller to get some fresh air. Hope is such a sweet and quiet little granny." Hope is a gentle soul who needs a patient and understanding person who can meet her needs with compassion and care. Might that be you? To meet Hope, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org.

Story
Meet McComb! McComb entered Pasadena Humane Society as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on November 30th to become a Frosted Face. McComb is estimated to be 8 years old, and he weighs 12.5 lbs. McComb is a special, lovable dog with some special needs that require a little extra patience and care. Thankfully, he has been living in a loving foster home since mid-December, and we've learned a lot about him and what he needs to thrive. McComb is a mellow guy who loves snacks, butt scratches, and sniffing around in the yard. Though he has some challenges—he’s blind, deaf, and likely has early-stage cognitive dysfunction (CCD)—he still enjoys life! His Fling Mom shares: "McComb walks to the beat of his own drum. He does what he wants- sometimes that is napping all day, sometimes that is pacing for a while. He doesn't pay attention to toys or me, but he does love snuffle mats! He also likes to go out in the yard and sniff around, his nose seems to work really well!! He doesn't walk very well on leash, so I didn't force him on walks and he didn't settle well in strollers, so I usually just rotate his sniffs in the front or back yard. McComb is fine with people if the people let him know they are there. I usually put my hand on his neck or back slowly and let him recognize I'm there and then start to pet him, he is usually receptive to pets that way. He can be a bit reactive if you go directly for his head. McComb does seem to recognize when I get home some days though and whines when he hears my dogs bark. McComb is aware when new dogs enter the home and will interact with polite sniffs. Otherwise, he pretty much ignores the other dogs in the home. He doesn't snuggle, but also isn't food aggressive or a resource guarder. McComb isn't a dog that is for everyone. In addition to being blind and deaf, he doesn't like his eye drops, and isn't potty trained- but he lovessss snacks and butt scratches. McComb would be a labor of love without much in return, but speaking from my experience, it'll be worth every dirty diaper and almost bite!" This special boy deserves to enjoy his golden years with a loving family who will cherish him for who he is. Might that be you? Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to mee McComb!
