Available for Adoption! Meet Sparks – A Shy Girl with a Heart Full of Love. Sparks may be a little timid when you first meet her, but give her some time, patience, and love, and she’ll soon become your most loyal shadow. Once she feels safe, she’ll follow you everywhere, always ready for an adventure—especially if it means playing outside! She adores her toys, whether she’s chasing them around the yard or snuggling up with them after a long day of fun. But when playtime is over, Sparks is all about cuddles—on the couch, in bed, or wherever you are. She may take a little time to open up, but once she does, she’ll shower you with endless love, proving that all she ever wanted was to feel safe, cherished, and home. Sparks is currently being treated for Anaplasmosis (Tick Dever not contagious to humans or other animals). Treatment is Doxycycline for 28 days & ends on 3/9. She will go home with her remaining medication and nothing further is needed. Sparks is crate trained, potty trained, doggy door trained, piddle pad trained, great with kids, cats and all dogs. She has had 2 vet visits, is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated x 2 DHPP (Fully vaccinated), Rabies, Bordetella x 2 , had a 4 DX test (Testing for 2 types of Tick, Lyme and Heartworm), Nexgard Plus (Flea, Tick & Heartworm preventative), 2 dewormings, 2 fecal tests. Adopters receive all original paperwork, a 14 day health guarantee, collar, Harness, leash, seatbelt lock and a weeks worth of food. Sheena is a darling Maltese Poodle mix who thinks the world should revolve solely around her. In fact she has a unique ability to make all other dogs seem invisible in her ideal world. She wants to be the center of your universe and if you have other plans, she will happily remind you otherwise. Some may compare it to “only child syndrome.” In return for your undivided attention, Sheena will worship you more than parishioners would of the leader of their cult. She will stay by your side and love you with every ounce of her 15 lb body. Sheena isn’t sure how she ended up in a rescue when we know her devotion to her former owner must have been unparalleled. She is certain that if you give her a chance to bond with you, she will love you forever. She needs someone home more often than not, as she learns how to be alone and grow her independence and confidence. She is fine with or without other dogs, as long as she has humans to dote on her! What can we say...she loves hard! Like many of our rescue dogs, We are not sure how well housetrained Sheena is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise she should be easy to train. Sheena is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks Sheena’s adoption fee is $450 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Mia is an adorable, shy, quiet little girl who had a bit of a rough start in life. She was abandoned by her owners in an apartment and according to the landlord there she spent most of her time locked in a cage. She likely had little socialization as well. She has gotten lots of love and attention here at the rescue as she is a favorite of several of the volunteers. Mia is about 3 years old. She is learning about house rules, leashes and walks. She is so passive and we are trying to bring her out of her shell and teach her how a beloved family dog should live! She weighs about 6 lbs.
