Meet Stallion! This handsome 7 year old Maltipoo joined us recently when his owner passed away. Stallion is a handsome, well-behaved little guy who slept in bed with his owner, is housetrained, and enjoys everyone he meets. He'll do best in a home with adults only (no kids or visiting kids/grandkids) and as your only canine companion (he doesn't like sharing his humans with other dogs). He's living at our adoption center and looking for his forever home.No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Arthur is such a good boy! He is blind, but can navigate on his own quite well once he learns his surroundings. He is also positive for Valley fever, a life-long fungal infection and would need an adopter dedicated to his follow up and medication appointments. New to a home, he can be very vocal, but once he settles in you will only hear him bark when he needs to go potty. For the most part, he is house-trained. I work away from the home and put him in wraps during the day, otherwise he will have an accident. He seems pretty indifferent to dogs. He lives with two small canine sisters but has been around larger dogs and did just fine. I haven`t had him around cats, but his former foster did and Arthur did well. I am not sure how he is with kids, but I can`t imagine him being anything but sweet. He definitely is not a cuddler but he loves being around his person. Especially, when they are in the kitchen :). He can`t jump so he doesn`t get on furniture but loves to wander around the house and yard. Currently, he lives with me and his two doggie sisters who are very playful. Outside of that, I would describe our home as pretty quiet and mellow. He sleeps in any dog bed he can claim in the house and is so cute the way he just plops down into one. He hates the car and crates and being in an enclosed area (like a hallway with a doggie gate). And he will let you know!! He does have some joint issues and only takes very short walks. (He could use some more leash training, I usually just let him walk in the yard without a leash.) He is missing quite a few teeth and needs soft food and LOVES bananas. He likes the KONG toys where he can lick for a small taste and loves to chew on socks :)

Aaron is recovering from previous hernia repair surgeries. He has gone through three surgeries to repair his hernia and needs to be monitored at home for defecation. He is on medications and special diet! He is a sweet boy and has done well with other dogs and people in his previous foster home. He likes to also play with toys! Come foster/pre-adopt him today!
