Story
Our next events to meet our pets:  Saturday September 27, 2025 from 1:30-3:30PM  at Take Me Home Pet Rescue 580 W Arapaho Rd Suite 433, Richardson, TX 75080 Saturday October 4, 2025 from 1-3PM at Petco in Plano 801F W 15th St, Plano, TX 75075   Marie Curie is the only girl in the ‘science babies’ litter and she’s as brilliant on the outside as she is on the inside! She’s a stunning torbie (mix of tortoiseshell and tabby) and an experiment of beautiful colors! Like her namesake, Marie is independent and happy keeping herself occupied. She’s playful, but less adventurous than her brothers and is happiest snuggling and making biscuits on you or a soft blanket. Marie has two siblings (Atom and Bond) and could be happy on her own or with a friend. Marie’s formula is 3 parts love and 2 parts independence. If you are looking for a balance of affection and independence, Marie could be the girl for you!    Marie Curie is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, she is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2481268##

Story
Bitty is the sweetest cat. We adopted her from PetSmart when she was a kitten around 6 or 7 years ago. She is the friendliest and kindest cat I have ever met with both children and adults. Unfortunately Bitty likes to poop out of the box frequently. we have tried to manage and put up with this whole time because she is so sweet. Unfortunately, due to our schedules and we now have a little one in the house who is going to start crawling soon... we can no longer have Bitty here. She is an extremely petite cat that weighs an average of only 6.2lbs. She has a huge appetite and drinks lots of water. (Allergic to Chicken)The only issue is, she poops outside her litter box about 50% of the time. (Just poop, she always pees in her box)We want to make sure she finds the right home as she is the sweetest and we really love her which is why the adoption fee is $0.

Story
Sencha is a gorgeous Maine Coon mix female born approximately 12/20/2023. Meet Sencha—a soft, long-haired beauty with a gentle spirit and a heart as warm as her name. Like a perfectly steeped cup of tea, Sencha is calm, comforting, and best enjoyed slowly. This fluffy girl is a bit shy at first and will need time to settle into her new home, but with patience and kindness, her sweet personality begins to bloom. She’s the kind of cat who forms deep, meaningful bonds with her people—once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll have a loyal companion who quietly adores you. Sencha prefers a dog-free environment where she can feel safe and secure. Because she is FIV-positive, she would thrive as the only cat in the home, soaking up all the love and attention for herself. Don’t let that worry you—FIV cats can live long, happy lives with proper care, and Sencha is no exception. If you’re looking for a soft, soulful companion and are willing to give her the time she needs to come out of her shell, Sencha just might be your perfect match.  Sencha is microchipped and currently in a loving foster home. Her adoption fee is $105.May 13, 2026, 4:43 pm
