Story
Arya is still very young. The vets estimated that she's probably around 8 or 9 months, and we think she has the appearance and personality of a Maine coon mix. She was abandoned by her previous owners in a secluded wooded area either while she was pregnant or after she had her 6 babies. A kind construction worker ran across her and her 2-week-old babies while he was at his work site. He refused to leave them out there to die in the 90+ temperatures, so he put them in a crate and had them in a Waffle House, trying to find a home for them. A friend of their foster mom took them and brought them to her. Arya has been so sweet and has never swatted at us or even hissed when we picked up her babies. She's been an excellent mommy and was always so attentive when one of her babies cried. She loves to play and cuddle. She really enjoys feather toys! She has had a rough start in life and so deserves to have a loving family.   Adoption information at https://shelteranimalsrescue.org/adopt  Visit the SARG, Inc. website for more information about our policies, events, and to submit an online application for one of our animals: https://www.shelteranimalsrescue.org.November 4, 2024, 10:24 pm

Story
Charlie is a gorgeous sweet gentleman that was trapped in an industrial park and immediately made it known that he was looking for a loving home. He is very affectionate and loves everyone who shows him kindness. He enjoys being on his humans lap and giving head butts to the face for kisses and just being close to people. He's a very well behaved gentleman. He loves to play both by himself and with his people and his kicker toy is always a favorite. He may even be willing to play a fun game of tag! He is doing very well using his scratching post and scratch pad and loves some good catnip! Charlie does well with other cats

Good with cats,
Story
Meet A Cat, a gentle giant. A Cat was rescued during a TNR operation. When he was found, he was underweight and drooling. Immediately we saw how friendly and sweet he was as he reached his paws up asking to be picked up.At a vet visit, it was determined he had an infected mouth and polyp on his tongue. After antibiotics took care of the infection, surgery and testing determined his tongue injury was not cancer. Once healed and feeling better, A Cat gained some much needed weight. He has a strikingly beautiful black coat and amazing gentle disposition. His favorite things are pets, wet food, and catnip toys.

Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hi there! We're Eddie and Gabe, two dashing Maine Coon brothers looking for a new place to call home—together, of course. You see, our human had to move into assisted living, and we couldn't go with her. We've always been around other kitties and people, and we miss having a cozy spot and a loving family to snuggle with. I'm Eddie, the one with the more white fur and my brother Gabe here has more brown in his coat. We may be eight years old, but we've got plenty of love to give! We’re gentle and sweet. We’ve lived with other cats who don’t have FIV, and guess what? They’re perfectly healthy! FIV isn’t the big deal some people think it is. As long as we don’t get into major scuffles (which we never do), we can live happily with other cats. Most rescues up north don’t even test for it anymore! All we want is a calm, quiet home where we can keep each other company—and maybe get some nice ear scratches from you, too! If you’ve got room in your heart and home for two loving boys like us, we promise to make it worth your while. Come meet us, and you’ll see! Cuddles,Eddie & Gabe If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm

My brother Eddie (he’s the one with more white fur) and I are in search of a cozy, calm home where we can stay together. We’ve been through a lot recently—our human had to move into assisted living, and we had to say goodbye. It's been hard, and we really miss having a family to love us. I won’t lie, we’re pretty desperate for a fresh start, but we know there's someone out there who’ll open their heart to us. We’re eight years old, but that just means we’ve perfected the art of being the best companions! We love being around other kitties and people, and we never cause a fuss. We’re not fighters—just lovers, really—so even though we’re FIV-positive, it’s no big deal. The other cats we lived with didn’t get it, and most places up north don’t even test for it anymore. We just need someone who understands that love matters more than any label. Eddie and I are a package deal—we’ve always been together, and we can’t imagine life any other way. We’re ready to bring warmth, purrs, and a whole lot of sweetness to a new home. If you’ve got room for two loving brothers who just want to feel safe and cherished again, we’d be forever grateful. Come meet us, and let us show you how much we’ve been saving up all our love for you! Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hello… I’m Manny, and I’m looking for a new home to call my own. I'm a handsome 10-year-old gent. I'm a Maine Coon mix with soft black fur and the sweetest face you’ve ever seen. Recently, my life has been turned upside down. My beloved human moved into assisted living, and my kitty friends and I found ourselves in an empty house. Luckily, we made it into rescue, but now I’m waiting, hoping someone will open their heart to me. I'm a gentle giant, known for my sweet disposition and love of cuddles. Petting and belly rubs are my absolute favorites, and I'll happily spend most of my time by your side, offering companionship and affection. But what I really want you to know about me is that I’m a love bug. I’m also a great office buddy, so if you need company while you work, I’m your guy. I’m pretty chill, and I’d love a calm, peaceful home where I can relax and feel safe. Whether I’m your only kitty or I share the space with cats around my age, I’ll be content as long as there’s love. And I know my name well, so just call 'Manny' and I’ll come trotting over, ready for cuddles. If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion to share your days with, I would be honored to be part of your family. Please consider giving me a chance to bring joy and warmth into your home. With love and soft purrs,Manny  PS. I've already had my dental!   If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830.
