Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Zelda! This adorable, affectionate mama cat was rescued from a shleter in North Carolina along with her kittens (Lynel and Feathers). She's about a year old and has been a wonderful mother to her kittens, and now she's looking for a loving home to call her own. She has a very mellow, relaxed personality and spends her days perched on the cat tree watching the antics of the silly kittens below - we picture her shaking her head and sighing as they crash into things. She's really more interested in relaxing and being pet and pampered, rather than playing. She has a beautiful, soft, silky coat and a fluffy tail. She's an awesome kitty and will make a wonderful addition to your home!  This cat is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV/Felv. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $250Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 4, 2025, 7:34 pm

Story
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION: Edgar is an adult Maine Coon. He is a big, cuddly boy. Edgar needs a diet of good quality wet food, not dry. He has problems with constipation. He has tested positive for FIV, but is in good health. Recent dental. He will be stressed by other male cats and will be aggressive, but is fine if those other cats are calm. He gets along with females okay. He does not like dogs. He is very affectionate and sweet toward people. He is stressed around small children. Edgar needs in an adopter who has a good relationship with their vet. Edgar is trained to allow claw clipping and likes carriers. He will need frequent claw trims. He is very good with medical care, including oral medication and fluids. He is a large cat, and Maine Coons are smart and need a lot of enrichment in their environment in order to not become destructive out of boredom. The right adopter will understand that a large long haired Maine Coon will need certain additions in their environment and diet. We are not sure exactly how old Edgar is, but we suspect over eight years.

Story
We prefer adopters to live within 1 hour of Claymont, DE 19703. Introducing Brutus. We were contacted about 2 cats that were outside. They were being fed and the feeder knew they needed to be spayed/neutered or there would be more. The feeder said they weren’t totally feral and scared cats. They were reserved to protect themselves. The feeder named him Brutus because he was always bullying and picking on his sister. The feeder took in the female and we took Brutus into rescue. Brutus continues to bully the others so he will probably do best as the only cat. He needs to be dog tested. Brutus eats like a horse because he is huge like one. He is playful and funny. He enjoys being brushed and petted. If you would like to meet this handsome boy please request an application by emailing us at AOLanimalrescue@gmail.com.

Story
Mocha was welcomed into our family in 7/2024. She lived outside in our neighborhood with her mom and other siblings. We noticed the night she walked into our kitchen. After bathing her she had a little sneeze. Now 8 months later she still has that sneeze but with mucus. Maybe 2-3 times a day she sneezes randomly. Other than that she’s perfect!! Sweet, playful, super easy with small children. Never scratches or shows signs of aggression. She absolutely loves to snuggle. She always sleeps in my daughter’s bed or baby doll crib. Super cute cuddly little kitty. We just cannot afford to give her medical attention that she needs. She’s not vaccinated or spayed She doesn’t seem to have fleas oh she likes bathing too! We love her! Just needs owners who are financially able to care for her.

These pups are in Downingtown, Pennsylvania too!

Story
Tinkerbell is a sweet and playful 6-year-old female cat looking for a caring forever home. She takes time to warm up to new people, but once she feels comfortable, she will shower you with love and affection. She has a fun and energetic personality—she loves playing with laser pointers and her favorite toys, and she will happily keep herself entertained. One of Tinkerbell’s cutest habits is greeting her humans at the door when they come home. She enjoys human interaction and will seek attention in her own way. She also loves watching birds on YouTube and can be mesmerized by the screen for long periods! While she does not like being held, with enough time and trust, she may eventually allow it. She would thrive in a patient home with loving humans who can give her the time and space she needs to adjust. Tinkerbell is also very well-behaved—she has never scratched furniture, as she prefers using her three scratching pads and her cat tower.
