Story
My wife and I adopted sweet Mila 15 months ago as a kitten while we were living in Atlanta in a household with no kids. We recently relocated to Bend to be in the same city as our two young children and, upon introducing Mila to our kiddos, she started acting aggressively towards the kids (she’s never had issues with adults and has always been sweet and outgoing around them.) We also realized that, post-introduction, she began to gain significant weight and her “spark” seemed to disappear. For these reasons, we’ve come to the hard decisions (after months of trying to improve her quality of life and get her to adjust living with kids) that it would be in her best interest to find her an adults-only home with someone who’s able to take care of her needs and give her the love and attention she deserves. She loves to be around adults, does well with other cats and dogs, but there’s unfortunately something about young children that she can’t get over.

Story
We adopted Grimm from the Brightside shelter in Redmond, OR in 2016 as a kitten. She grew up with an older cat who eventually passed away and then she became the princess of the house. She loves to snuggle on laps and enjoys her space (like a typical cat), sleeping the day away on a cozy blanket, coming out occasionally for snuggles. She has always been on the anxious side, even as a kitten, and needs lots of time to adapt to new spaces and environments. She is not mean to children, but she does need to be able to retreat to a space that is her own since she has a more delicate sensibility. She should not go to a home with other animals, especially other cats, due to some previous trauma with our older cat who was experiencing health issues and had become aggressive. When Grimm gets too anxious, she exhibits her stress in diarrhea, so she really does need a home with no other pets in order for her to be her healthiest and happiest.
