Story
Do you want to be admired but not have people be all handsy/huggy with you? Me too!!! I am a gorgeous boy who has had a bit of a rough life and that has led me to be suspicious of some people (especially men). I have tried meditating but found that setting boundaries (3 pets on the head and not 4; snuggles only when authorized) is the best way to go. My person who gave me all the love in all the right doses passed away and now I am looking for that purrfect person who understands that I just like company and to be near you and like to be the one making the first move for attention. I am gorgeous, fluffy, entertaining and low energy. I am an easy boy to have around. I do have allergies to dust and such and as such may sneeze some artsy designs upon occasion but it doesn't slow me down and I don't mind if you don't. I was overlooked by people before my last mom because I am FIV+. What does that mean? Not a lot. It is mostly a label. People say that if I get sick I should go to the vet but that is pretty much what you would do with any cat. So if you care about what it means then you can find out more at https://fivcats.com/. I live with other cats and do fine. I just like a nice window, soft bed and person to snuggle next to. And I love my picture taken. If my handsome face makes you smile, then consider letting me make you smile every day and make me part of your family.  If you are interested in adopting Humphrey, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60-75 miles of the Raligh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
This handsome boy is extremely large and likes to be spoiled and have his own way. He wants a quiet home with no dogs, kids and if there are any other cats, they need a slow intro with him. This poor boy lost his person and spent an extended time in boarding. He has been through a lot. He was used to a very quiet home and needs a home like that again. His current foster has other cats and they have slowly been introduced but with letting this boy have his own space as well. He is very vocal and very specific about what he likes. He can be a sweet lover boy but must must must have a person willing to take things slowly with him and give him space to come out and feel comfortable. He has had a rough year of life and now deserves all that he wants.  If you are interested in adopting Mars, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
This sweet boy just wants a quiet place and lap time. He is the sweetest of sweet cats with his human and he is so very deserving. He has dealt with losing his home 3 times (through zero fault of his own), so this time it will require the best of best of homes and a person dedicated to spoiling him. Although he may tolerate another cat in the home, he is not going to be a pal or want them near him. He is not a fan of other animals or noise - likely due to the trauma he dealt with when he was dumped outside (where he is way too big of a baby to be).  Inside he is quiet, mellow and unassuming. He will slowly melt into your lap before you even realize he is there. He is cautious in new environments but once he finally feels safe, he will be your constant companion. He is a big guy - over 14 pounds - and fluffy. He will tolerate brushing but will need some substantial cat trees/scratchers as he is not a fan of nail trims.Clearly he has not had a charmed life of mani pedis early on that made him feel comfortable with them and that is fair.  This sweet guy has had way too much bad happen to him to have one more single negative thing happen. He is amazing, sweet, gentle and gorgeous.Habits that he has that you must learn to love - he clearly was an only kitten and did not learn gentle play. If you overstimilate him he will take his massive paws and grab you and maybe nibble. The paws alone are pretty strong and even trimmed, those nails are impressive. And nail trimming. He is not a fan. We do it using two people and can show you how we safetly do it. It is doable if you are willing. This boy isn't always easy but he is a love and gorgeous and the best boy.  If you are ready to ensure this handsome older gent gets all he needs to be happy, then reach out and complete an application. We will make sure that he gets the perfect environment for his needs as he has been through way more than any cat deserves to and now is his time to be happy, spoiled, safe and have a forever home that truly is forever.  If you are interested in adopting Brutus, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
Kk was rescued as a kitten from a box on the side of the highway. A long-haired grey Maine Coon, she does not generate allergies like most cats. Kk is now 7. She has been around other Maine Coons and dogs (Yorkies) all her life. However, about a year ago she developed Epilepsy and began having seizures so it is best to have her in a home of low stress (no other cats, dogs or small children). In the last year we have worked with our vet to stabilize her on medication and a special dry diet that has eliminated her seizures and kept her very stable, eating well, and happy. Kk is a very sweet and loving cat. She has always been a snuggler and sitting on any available lap, especially during a nap with a blanket involved. She especially loves a belly rub! We are retiring and moving abroad so cannot take her with us. For the right rehome family, we will provide (pay in advance) 1 year of food and meds to help with her transition and care. Thank you for considering our sweet girl!

Story
Winston and his sister, Simone, have been best friends from the time they were little kittens and get along with one another splendidly. We adopted them when they were about six months old, and they have been an absolute joy. They are indoor only kitties and are very easy to care for: they exhibit none of the annoying bad habits sometimes found in other cats, such as scratching furniture and walking along kitchen countertops, and they provide lots of entertainment. In fact, they are the best cats we’ve ever had. These two are now four years old and in their prime. They are fully vaccinated, chipped and in excellent health. Unfortunately our life style has changed, so that we now need to be away for extended periods of time. This does not seem fair to our kitties who enjoy the company of people, so we are looking for a suitable new home for them. One non-negotiable condition is they must remain together, because separating them would be sad.

Story
Finn was surrendered to the NYC shelter and found himself on death row and completely devastated. He made his way into rescue where he was diagnosed with urinary crystals. Staying on a prescription diet has worked well. He is playful, and loves to run across the wood floor and slide when turning corners. He is talkative and loves to snuggle on his terms. At times he will fall asleep wrapped around your arm or in your lap. He can have some catitude from time to time so would not recommend young children or an inexperienced cat person. He is hopeful to find that Purrfect home with someone willing to have a little understanding and patience. Finn fell in love with a young woman who went off to collage. Finn is seeking a gentle soul looking for a loving devoted companion. Signed, Finn.

Story
Are you a patient person that can give gorgeous Maine Coon mixed breed kitties a bit of time to acclimate? Maddy and Blue are wonderful, beautiful sweet sisters even though they both have grumpy-looking faces. They are very endearing and loving. They see lovey time with people once comfortable. They have so much love to share, they will need some time to warm up in a new, quieter environment. They both enjoy being brushed, being talked to, and of course getting rubbies. Maddy, 13.50# calico is the social butterfly, and Blue, 11.50# is more reserved, and quite bonded to Maddy. Blue waits until Maddy accepts you, then she blossoms. Maddy is diabetic, has limited vision and will need insulin daily. We are hoping with the correct diet that she may not need insulin forever. The foster Mom gives her the insulin while she is eating and Maddie doesn't even flinch. It's that painless. The girls came to the rescue due to their Mom passing away after a long illness. The girls like hooded beds to sleep in. They like exploring crinkle tunnels, checking out the windows, watching nature, the couch, and site seeing in the house. They are approximately 5.5 years old, spayed, vaccines are current, do not like dogs, no bad habits and micro-chipped, which is an added perk adopting from Snow Camp! Please request an adoption application, by clicking the request information button, or text the adoption coordinators, Bev @ 262-894-5975 or Carrie @ 801-550-9231. The rescue is running an 'I love purrs' adoption special and if you fill out an application before 6/30/24, take $25 off each. These beautiful gals are looking for a quiet, loving home where they can explore, get rubbies and be adored. Could you offer them that special forever home?

Story
Meet Joey and Choloe, two very large, beautiful, bonded sisters. They have alot of love to offer, and just need time to show you. These gorgeous, approximately 18# gals need a champion. Choloe is a tuxie tabby, Maine Coon and domestic breed kitty. She has a gorgeous dark tabby pattern on her back with a white chest and tummy, and of course the signature large plume tail. Joey is the black and white traditional tuxie shorter-haired kitty. Joey shows her partial Maine Coon heritage in her large size. She has a ongoing personality once she knows you which is typical of most kitties. Their perfect environment would be a quiet home with someone who works from home or is retired. These ladies would benefit hugely from people being home to spend time with them. They enjoy music on when no one is around. They would do ok with older kids. Other younger cats would be ok, but no dogs. These girls have been with a wonderful foster who has helped them realize someone does care about them. They are learning life has so much more to offer them. Joey, the black and white tuxie will now sit in your lap. Choloe will interact with you at food time. They both enjoy watch the squirrels and birds outside. The girls are playing with toys and realizing life has more to often them. You can experience the joy of watching Joey and Choloe share their souls with you. Their story is not a happy one. The elderly, previous owner passed away early this year. That's when we we asked to help re-home these sisters, or they would be headed to a shelter and euthanized. We found Joey and Choloe were confined to a large on-suite bathroom almost their entire life until March of this year. Choloe only prefers the company of her sister, Joey. The elderly lady had other cats, and confined these two to a large bathroom since Choloe was territorial at that time. (They ignore other cats they have been exposed to.) They had toys and a small, high window. Their main source of entertainment was food which lead to them both weighing over 20#. They have been seen by a vet and placed on a lower calorie diet. They will remain large-sized kitties. The girls are spayed, vaccines are current, litter trained of course, no bad habits and micro-chipped, which is an added perk adopting from Snow Camp! I would do ok with another kitty that is easy-going. Please request an adoption application, by clicking the request information button, or text the adoption coordinators, Bev @ 262-894-5975 or Carrie @ 801-550-9231. A no risk adoption. We have videos of the girls playing, that are simply adorable. Joey is a wiggly worm while getting her share of rubbies. These girls will bond very tightly with you. They need to feel like they are finally at home that loves them. One were rubbies are a constant. One where they can rub up against their new special person at will. Are the special person to being their world?
